Badge app icon not working...again in iOS 11.3

Starting a new thread to see if anyone else is having this issue. I like many others had an issues in earlier iOS 11 versions that prevented the red circle with a number in it (app badge) from showing up with new messages. The bug was eventually fixed with 11.2.6ish or one of them. Anyway, it appears the bug is back in 11.3.

Hoping to to hear from others to see if it’s a widespread issued again. App badges work fine on iPhone and other devices. Just not on my iPad.

For record I’m using an iPad mini 4 obviously on 11.3.

iPad Mini Wi-Fi + Cellular, iOS 11.3, 4th Generation

Here’s what I did. It did solve the issue but Ipad got frozen on another app and I turned it off and turned back in then it stopped working. So fingers crossed, I did it again and so far so good. in Settings go to general and hit reset all settings. Do NOT erase all content. You will NOT lose anything stored except background pic and Apple Pay info. Back up first. It’s the setting that’s messed up. Yes, I still check everyday to see if there is another update to fix this issue as I don’t trust how long it will stay. Good luck to all.

Hello there! You're not the only one, I can promise you that! My iPad Mini 2 is having this issue again. I think that once Apple releases the iCloud iMessage service, things will be a lot better. But I am also having these badge app issues again.

I’m on 11.4.1 on iPad Pro (1st gen, 9.7). The only thing that I’ve gotten to work is to do soft reset, which is to say, hold down Sleep/Power and Home buttons simultaneously until Apple logo shows up. In some cases, you have to do it a couple of times.

If that doesn’t work, my last resort has been the Reset All Settings (the one that doesn’t erase your whole device). This definitely works but it’s annoying because all your settings get reset. Some apps have problems with that and you have to reinstall them.
