Badge app icon not working...again in iOS 11.3

Here’s what I did. It did solve the issue but Ipad got frozen on another app and I turned it off and turned back in then it stopped working. So fingers crossed, I did it again and so far so good. in Settings go to general and hit reset all settings. Do NOT erase all content. You will NOT lose anything stored except background pic and Apple Pay info. Back up first. It’s the setting that’s messed up. Yes, I still check everyday to see if there is another update to fix this issue as I don’t trust how long it will stay. Good luck to all.

Just not going to turn it off!

I know the two button reset isn’t a permanent fix but it does resolve the issue for a certain time. It usually gets me by a few months. I agree, permanent fix is needed.

Yes. Agreed. Same problem. Disregard whoever said to reset. It works for a day or two then goes back to misbehaving. By the way I have IOS 11.4.1 but problem started long before.

Yep, the bug is back on my IPad too. The badge app icon displays 2 messages regardless of whether all messages have been read or whether I receive any amount of new messages. It’s permanently stuck showing 2 messages.

Same thing on my new 2018 6 generation iPad. When ios 11.4 came out it fixed it - for 2 days. Had 3 one hour conversations with Apple. Try this and try that. Finally they sent me to apple genius bar. Deleted and restored iPad. When I left it worked...two days later it doesn’t again. There’s a lot of texts with this issue. I think they need to do another update to correct this.

Yup I started getting this issue after the update with icloud support for iMessage. It worked fine for a couple days but now things are either out of sync or the badge isn’t working on my iPad. Very frustrating.

Exact same issue. I had a malfunctioning Mini 4 and just got another, brand new, iPad Mini 4 on July 3rd and this badge app icon issue persists...
