Edits on photos in iPhone, disappear and photos are reversed to original

I just got the new iPhone 10Xs. I have updated my iOS to 12.01. I am only noticing this problem on Portrait Pictures that are Black & White using contoured lighting. My color photos seem fine but the B&W ones don't preserve the filter. I even tried taking a screenshot and that reverses the filter as well! Such a bummer. Hoping this problem gets fixed soon but apparently, Apple has gone radio silent on this thread... 😠

I just noticed the same issue today-in morning was still ok.all edits gone on 27k travel pictures- why apple dont respond? is it going to be fixed? If no-this is last apple.

I had the same issue. I added text notes to a few hundred photos from a trip. After a week most of them have disapeared
