Things were fine prior to this update. Now the audio can only come out on the TV speakers but can’t be channeled to the HomePod despite setting audio to it. Anyone experiencing this? An iOS 11.4 bug? If not, how to overcome this?
I would even prefer they reverted to 11.3.x
I can live without stereo pairing if it properly routes all audio to the selected HomePod device instead of HDMI
Hopefully someone can bring this up during the HomePod Specialists Event, but it seems like the HomePod team and Apple TV team aren't talking to each other and/or don't really care...

Can you see it in the Home app, with no errors indicated? Have you tried resetting the HomePod?
Running YouTube on Apple TV, I can channel audio to HomePod on OS11.4.
But not so on DS Video app and when running screen mirroring.
Also, FWIW the sounds on the home screen...the system sounds do not come through the homepod. They come through the tv. Its only when i enter certain apps that the audio switches to the homepod.
Does anyone have an update or a workaround for this? I find it hard to believe that apple testing could have missed this.
I tried various settings to no success. Tried with 2 HomePods in stereo grouping also. Same problem.
What I find puzzling is, it worked well before and now no. Why!!! Hope this can be fixed soon.
I have reported this, maybe more reports on this can get the attention of apple and gets this resolved sooner.
Realised that Apple TV has a new beta TVOS 11.4.1. Updated to it but doesn’t help with the issue :-(
