Things were fine prior to this update. Now the audio can only come out on the TV speakers but can’t be channeled to the HomePod despite setting audio to it. Anyone experiencing this? An iOS 11.4 bug? If not, how to overcome this?

No new update, other than Apple collected logs from my Apple TV, iPad and HomePod. ***

Getting pretty frustrated by not being able to have the audio directed to HomePod.

Unfortunately not. I do have the same problem using my airplay 2 enabled sonos speakers with my apple tv 4th gen. my older airplay "1" enabled speaker is still working as expected. sad.
Apple store service center can’t roll back the tvOS to an earlier version :-(
Same problem here. Brand new Apple TV 4 generation(not the 4k) and brand new homepod. Both bought like 3 ago. Apple TV has 11.4

Same problem here. Brand new Apple TV 4 generation and brand new homepod. Apple TV tvOS 12, HomePod v12. worse than a cheap bluetooth speaker.
