IOS 11.4.1 WIFI BUG

Since updating to 11.4.1 my wifi doesn't seem to be working correctly.

I am connected to the wifi but apps like youtube, facebook and whatsapp struggle to connect to the internet but eventually connect after a minute or two.

My old ipad mini first gen is running ios 9 and is working perfectly on the same wifi, so this is clearly an issue with the new ios.

Do you also have this problem?

I put this down to poor quality control, again.

I also have this problem - with both my iPad Air2 and my iphone 6s. The iphone updated to IOS 11.4.1 a couple of days after the Ipad and only started exhibiting the problem then so I can only assume the problem is related to the update. I have to disconnect and reconnect wifi on the device every 10 minutes or so. I am on Virgin media at home and the problem seems to be particularly bad there. I was at my mother's (BT broadband) yesterday with my Ipad and it was fine.

in our case one employee updated to IOS 11.4.1 and now his phone hangs when connected to our access point on our LAN. when checking emails. As soon as we turn off the WiFi and use his cell phone data plan, everything is good.

we have reset his phone, reset the network, and in exchange removed and reestablished a new active sync relationship, but no luck. ONLY one person is having this issue. it is an iPhone 6

Apple svegliatiiiii...

Yes, same issue here on my iPad Air 2. After upgrading iOS to version 11.4.1 I am having problems with connectivity when waking up my iPad and trying to use the Internet. The first minute or so there won't be any connection and no application will be able to access the Internet, even though the iPad is connected to my Wi-Fi access point. After about a minute (sometimes 10 seconds, sometimes 40 seconds), Internet starts working.

It is obviously an iOS bug since this problem wasn't present before and surfaced only after upgrading iOS to 11.4.1.

Same issue on both my iPhone SE and iPad 4 Mini - only at home not noticed at work. I found the quickest temp fix it to turn air-plane mode on the off, then can last 3-30mins before failing again.

Was really hoping Apple would have fixed by now, or at least admit it was an issue... lots of threads here and elsewhere, clearly an issue. Best guess I;ve seen so far is it may be to do with certain access points, possible dual 2.4/5GHz frequency ones

Just got back from the Apple Store. My wifi setting grayed out a few times after the upgrade but after I turned the phone (7 Plus, 128 gb, 45 gb used) off and on it came back. This past weekend, it grayed out and won't reappear. I texted support, tried resetting the network settings and resetting all settings, didn't help. Tried to even erase all content and settings and it says "Cannot erase iPhone There was a problem removing this iphone from your account try erasing this iPhone again." (which I've done, and gotten the same message). The tech I texted with tried to send me diagnostics to run (still on cellular fine, just pricey with a limited plan) but I couldn't receive it. Then it started losing battery quicker than normal, and feeling warm, so I just shut it off unless I really needed it. . . Genius (interesting tidbit there, he wanted me to turn off "Find my iPhone" and that wouldn't work, either, had to do it from his computer) told me that it was probably not a software issue and I could get another 7 Plus 128 for $349 plus tax *and* my current phone but the killer- the new one, a refurb, would only have a 90 day guarantee. So, my plan now is to do the router on and off with the phone off (not expecting much, the wifi button is grayed out, not sure how I could get it back) and then try to back up and restore (maybe I have a pre-11.4.1 backup, need to look). Phone is less than 2 years old, never had any drops, water (he did the full phone diagnostics in the store and couldn't find anything) - not even a scratch.

Similar problem here, on two iPhone SE: After upgrading to ios 11.4.1, got frequent nonresponsive wifi connection - only with our wifi repeater (a fritz!repeater 310, no problems with our primary router).

To try to cure this I did the upgrade to ios 12 public beta 5 yesterday. This went smooth - and the wifi problem is gone!

Also didn't observe any other problems with ios 12 so far, apart from one app (Redshift) crashing on start. So I'm quite happy with ios 12 beta so far.

I very much doubt a new WiFi router/access point solved this problem since the issue is with the IOS 11.4.1 itself.

Sometimes after waking up the iPad/iPhone it takes just a few short seconds before it starts working with WiFi (maybe you got lucky and that's what you experienced), but more often you have to wait for at least around 15-20 seconds. You should notice that next time you wake up your device.
