spreediscount

is this a virus - how can I stop these amazing amazon discount offers from spreediscount.com? It looks like a phishing pop up to me and it pops up and removes my history so I can’t back out of it.

Safari – Popup takes over

Safari – Popup takes over (2)

Popup remover – Scam Zapper

If the pop-up reloads, force quit Safari (command - option/alt - esc) and reopen with the shift key held down. If that doesn't work, disconnect from the Internet, go to Safari/History and delete the website. Quit and reopen with the shift key held down. Then reconnect to the Internet.

Spent a week on this issue and I think I finally found the answer. Just follow these steps:

  1. Copy spree discount link.
  2. Close Safari
  3. Go to settings and select safari and make sure the following features are turned on. Block Pop up. Prevent cross tracking. Ask website not to track me. Fraudulent website warning
  4. Back up To iCloud (Not really necessary) but you never know.
  5. Clear history and website date.
  6. Go to advance settings in safari.
  7. Click web site date click view all and delete.
  8. Now go to General in setting and turn on restrictions. Note you must create a 4 digit PW for it (Don’t forget it!). Year of birth will do.
  9. Select website then chose limit adult content (sorry no more ****)
  10. Then scroll down to never allow and click add a website and enter spree discounts we site address. It is BEST to copy and past the link to make sure you have it correct). Then save.
  11. Finally just for good measure I would do a hard reset and that **** is gone.

I looked over my notes and see I forget to include to enable JavaScrip. I will repost the steps with correction. I have been Spee free for five days LOL. Also it’s important to copy and past when adding link to block list.

I downloaded the Site Blocker app which blocks it at times (for a day or so) but then seems to be able to circumvent the block again.

A VPN and pop up blockers don’t work. In fact my VPN (Phone Guardian) prevented all access to the internet - both 4G and Wi-Fi, even trusted wi-fi - after spree discount was really bad. I had to install the VPN to get it to work. Browsing private doesn’t help.

It happens on both Chrome and Safari browsers.

Same here, only eBay and only on iPad. Doesn't seem to happen when browsing ebay NOT logged in, but that's not a solution. I've had success avoiding it by first going to eBay home page, request desktop site (via the share button), and then visiting various item pages. (As far as listing items for sale, the eBay app appears unaffected, so you might try that, even though it's not a solution either.)

First time on these forums, so I apologize if this is not the right place or possible solution for your problems, but it has temporarily fixed mine. I have not used my yahoo fantasy football for a while, and suddenly when I tried to log on and adjust my team I was redirected to a pop up for amazon amazing something and the web address showed spreediscount. I went crazy trying to remove it. Deleted browser history, but that only worked for a day or two. Then I realized I had just conducted a speed test and had downloaded speedtest app. I removed that app, and since have not had any problems. I will update if that changes.
