iMessages sending to wrong contacts

All 3 family members with iPhones have been able to send iMessages w/o difficulty for years. Since upgrading to iOS 12, when I send an iMessage from my phone to my wife, it goes to my daughter‘s phone. As I hit send, I can see the contact name on the top change from one name to the other.

If my dauhhter replies, it comes to me. Also, I receive messages from my wife just fine. If I reply to her, it goes to her and my daughter. This issue only happens when originating a message on my phone.

We we do have the same Apple ID, but all of our settings are enabled to only send/receive from our respective phone numbers.

Thoughts on how to fix this?

This is exactly what is happening to me, wife and 2 teen children. We tried removing the text history and worked for a little bit, then overnight went back to this behavior.

Its not her account, its her husband and wife that she works for. She texts one or the other and it goes to both of them.

Sorry but that’s not correct. Every other iteration of IOS has never had this problem. Once I updated to iOS 12 the problem occurred.

That's ridiculous. All four of us in our family have always used the same account for years and never had this problem until today. There's no reason we should have to have different apple IDs

I am having the same problem - 3 people using our AppleID, never had the problem before and now an issue. AND it's only happening to ME. Not the other two phones.

We all have our own accounts in our family and it is still doing it. Never had a problem until we upgraded to 12
