Since installing Mojave I cannot print. I have na Epson ET 3750. When I select print I get the spinning ball - I uninstalled and reinstalled to printer. I cannot even access printer in system settings - when i select it I get the spinning ball again.

Of course I am going to share it with you when I get any news about it.

But honestly I do not have very much hope that they will find a solution very fast. Today I got another mail from Canon where they asked me again for some screenshots that show the version of the driver I am using and that I did not select the „color sync“ option in the printer driver menu. Although I already shared some screenshots with them which showed exactly this. Anyway, I recorded my screen this time and sent them a short video.

But the thing that I really don‘t understand is that they have now stated multiple times that it might be possible that some options in the driver might have been removed (on purpose). That seems to me as if they do not know their own software very well.

Hello folks,

I also have an Epson ET-3750 and have the same problems since Mac OS Mojave installed on my faithful MBP.

Apparently, the troubles are coming from Preview.

I used all the many tricks mentionned above, none of them worked with Preview.

However, I noticed that if I open my files with an other app, **magic**, the dual-side printing appears back, the grayscale and drafts options also. I tested opening PDF's with Firefox, Chrome, Adobe Reader and I have the same options back.

So the blame is to put on Preview as far as I'm concerned.

Dear Apple, you were so happy to claim that your new products are more ecological than ever. So, can you investigate into that ?

Because not being allowed to print in dual side and grayscale (which is one way of getting ecological printing) does not seem coherent with your claims.

Thanks and good luck.

The Canon Software "MP Navigator EX 5.1" for scanning is not supported (Nov 2018) on Mojave (10.14) for the Canon PIXMA MX892 printer (and others). The workaround is to download all 3 Canon MX892 drivers for High Sierra (10.13) ; then use the Canon Utility "Canon IJ Network Selector EX" to select the printer, then add the printer via System Preferences with the Bonjouor multi-function driver. After this you can scan by using the Mac application "Image Capture"; or by going to System Preferences, Printer and clicking on the "Scan"; "Open Scanner" button.

I also have ET-3750 and lost ability to connect to the printer after Mojave. So no printing or scanning. I have to say that I am somewhat furious with Apple for screwing up so badly. This is exactly the reason why I switched my company from Windows. Must say that if Apple doesn't responsibility for this and fix the problem fast, I will discard every single Apple in my company, move back to Windows. This is simply not acceptable.

This is how I got my Epson ET-2650 printing again after installing Majave:

1. Go to Printers | Epson® Official Support | Epson US and search for your printer model

2. For the Operating System dropdown on that page, make sure macOS 10.14.x is selected

3. Under Downloads, scroll down to Drivers and at a minimum, download and install the Printer Driver. I installed the Drivers and Utilities Combo Package Installer, which includes the Scanner driver, Software & Firmware Updater, etc.

After installing this, I was able to print again. If for some reason this doesn't work for you, you might try using the Epson Uninstaller software on the same page to uninstall everything first. This does more than just remove the printer from Printers & Scanners in System Preferences; it actually removes all the current drivers. Then try installing the new drivers again.

Obviously this applies to Epson printers, but similar steps for other printers like Canon and HP might also work.

I'm beginning to grasp that Mojave has really upped the game with its "Library Validation" requirements. I haven't seen it explained in plain-speak but, I suspect that print drivers that do not use Library Validation are sand-boxed and not allowed direct access into the applications. Something like a CUPS equivalent driver is used in place of the older unsecured driver. It appears that things began to quietly ratchet up in 10.13 with regard to Applications that used Library Validation such as Safari, Pages, Numbers and Microsoft Office. I see the same driver when I used those applications as I see in all applications in Mojave. Other apps in 10.13 such as Notes and TextEdit gave me full access to my driver. Now, I suspect that as the driver itself is old and does not use Library Validation, its not being used at all.

Bottom Line: Get your printer manufacture to write a new Mac OS 10.14 Compatible Driver!

Sorry for any inaccuracies above, super smart codey people. I'm sure you'll get it better than I do. I just want to print again.

You're right that Library Validation has been increased in Mojave, but you should find the vendor settings in the Printer Features PDE. Some of these features don't seem to work correctly, again because of Library Validation. Most Apple apps have the increased Library Validation; but the non-Apple apps should at least appear as they did on 10.13.

My mac auto updated (which I thought I'd disabled) Everything worked well on high Sierra now my Lexmark CS517 won't print. I've pretty much gone through most of the steps below and nothing is working properly. Its mostly postscript stuff I'm having trouble with. When I save the pdfs to a network drive and print using m sons older mac using High Sierra they printer out of the same printer absolutely fine. This is so frustrating I now have to watse time and go back to my older operating system

Apple Bug Reporter Item: 46807004

Routed printing id broken in macOS Mojave limiting printing to only devices on a user's local subnet. This affects Bonjour, LPP, and Windows printing, all models of printers, and any model of Mac. The issues occur on systems that have been upgraded to Mojave or brand new Macs out of the box.

Printing to devices on the same subnet still works with Bonjour etc, but the printing to printers on different subnets fails, even though you can ping them or open their web page.

This is not a driver or configuration issue that the user can fix. It is a defect in Mojave that must be fixed by Apple.
