Photos in iMessage disappeared after ios13 update

Great news all! After multiple calls, I was able to get my message photos & links back! I had to reset my phone to factory settings. When resetting the phone, use the new phone option. Then login to appleID. Then leave plugged in and on WiFi for awhile. (Obviously this only works if you have messages going to the iCloud). The only drawback is that the rest of your non-Apple apps & settings don’t port over, so you have to re-add them. Will definitely take awhile to get everything back to how I like it. But at least I have all of message photos and links :) hope this helps other folks.

Same problem. Accidentally found a fix:

All photos and videos GONE when I woke in the morning after the update. No photos, no See All.

THE FIX : all I did was send a single new photo to my friend and that single new photo appeared in the ‘info’ with the option to ‘See All’, which had disappeared too). I tapped ‘see all’ and all the photos and videos were back.

that was my accidental discovery

so try sending a photo and see if that gives you back a ‘see all’ option. Fingers crossed it works for you. I was seriously going to give up on Apple a few hours ago. Who wants a company that loses your precious memories for you??

OK... my latest update I tried a full back to pc and restored all via itunes and its fixed the broken info issue within imessgae and contacts

Still proves theres something breaks either when updating OTA or restoring OTA using wireless as opposed to itunes...

Settings => Contacts => Accounts => whatever accounts you have in there shut off all the switches except "email". Keep the iCloud account as is and make sure you have syncing for messages and contacts on.

I'have the same issue since i've got an iPhone 12.

During the iMessage indexation, I can see the button " xxx images in iCloud " Download. But now, the indexation is over and this button disappear and it still miss 95% of my photos in iMessage / Info...

Already tried to restart the iPhone & desactivate/activate iMessage in iCloud

I got a new phone and set it up as new (and then syncing iCloud) hoping that would fix the problem but it didn't. This is the reason that I think this is an iCloud issue, not necessarily an iOS issue. I wish Apple would recognize that.

AHall4 those photos in 'Details" are photos sent between you & contact , that will not solve missing photo in contact on I-message.

I have found when a contact photo goes missing just restart the Mac, that usually solves for a missing contact photo!

Sadly I can’t even turn ON iMessages now.

I get an error saying I must turn on mobile data. It IS on...

I previously had hotspot on and now get a message saying I can only use it over WiFi or USB. Extremely annoying.

For some reason today I also can’t get photos in the Messenger app whereas yesterday I received some. So bloody annoying Apple.

I’ve had the same. When you click on a message followed by the ‘i’ button all messages exchanged are gone. But they if I scroll through the conversation they are all still there as before. Odd

same problem after upgrade..i’m From Italy..I hope this problem will fix fast or in 13.1 version , please if someone have solution write immediately here or in other post!!thanks

This is what it says when I toggle it off. I’ve had this newer iPhone 7 Plus for almost a week now too.

When you go to iMessage and see all photos it’s a tab at the top that says photos and screenshots.

My photos are not showing in iMessage and that download link isn’t there
