After updating to iOS 13, all photos previously sent and received through iMessage are gone. Has anyone else encountered this issue and found a solution?

I am experiencing the same: After the update to iOS 13.0, photos sent and received under iOS 12.x are not present under "info" in imessage (but they are if I scroll up through the message history). If I send or receive a photo after the update, they are present in the "info" section. Is this a known bug? Known fix?
Hi, So I did the above as you mentioned and the photos have disappeared, they are not in photos or downloads? Help!
Why hasn’t Apple resolved this yet? For the premium price we all pay you would think this would be addressed. There is years worth of pictures I can’t get to or see in the cloud
I hope iOS 14 fixes it.
That is also happening to me my photos and links aren’t showing on the info part of iMessage where they are supposed to be.
Anyone switch to iOS 14 yet? I wonder if that fixes it.

same issue. I can no longer see any pics exchanged via iMessage. Have to scroll back to conversation. Super inconvenient.

All my communications are via texting, not Messages.
My problem is slightly different my photos in iMessages are grey but not since thand update. Do you think what you did will also help me get my photos back.

i can’t find them in icloud. where will they be downloaded?

I’ve given up. I’m also out of storage on iCloud. I’ll just pay for more and hope my history returns whenever I get a new phone one day. It’s not right but Apple is too big to care.
