How to disable “one more minute” on Screen Time?

Hi Guys, i used to use the Screen Time to lock my apps, using 1 minute as time limit for all apps. After IOS 13, now there is a option that you can access any app for “one more minute”. I think that it can be usefull for somepeople but i really didnt like that there is no option to disable it. Is there any way to disable? Thanks

5 more minutes? My 6 year old used 45 minutes by using "1 more minute" for all of his games and apps. That system is totally broken and seems like it hasn't even been tested with real families and toddlers. "1 more minute" makes sense in the way that you can hurry up and save your game or whatever, but should be on a device basis and not app-based as it is now!

Apple keeps screwing their software and equipment with every update. Working things are finally always "fixed" to be frustrating for users. I no longer recommend anything from Apple because my level of frustration went too high and there is nothing what nowadays I can trust to be working after next (coming very soon) update. This 1 minute feature is a perfect example how to trash something what used to be great idea.

Apple got duped by kids. downtime already gave kids a 5 minute warning - so the whole reason for “add 1 more minute” is dumb - it already gives a “five minute“ warning to “finish that sentence or tell friends goodbye” - or whatever Apple uses as an excuse for the add 1 more minute button - downtime was never abrupt as described in Apple reason it gave kids 5 minute warning....

whatever programmer is responsible for the add one more minute feature was conned, is likely not a parent - and should be fired for killing the downtime feature - kids can just click add one minute over and over again - and they DO....

Apple completely screwed the pooch on this. The kids are loving it because the get all the time they want now. Screen time was one of the reasons we chose Apple products over Android. Apple probably just wants their devices to get more use so they sneaked in this little "feature." Also very sad there is no response here, evidence that they just don't care about this issue.

This is ridiculous Apple, come on, either it’s a parental control or it’s not, I couldn’t figure out why the screen time kept going above the allotted limit and I’ve only just learned that my daughter can keep tapping ‘one more minute’ as long as she likes - literally what is the point?

Not impressed Apple, this is an easy fix - get it sorted please.

Please allow us to disable one more minute.

The app limit hack is a hack. This crazy. We need to be able to completely disable non-educational games until a password is entered. One more minute is wasting everyones time. This is especially important while everyone is home from school due to COVID-19. Please, please, please, someone fix this.

Also, please allow 100% downtime. It's kind of insane I have to set it from 3:01am to 3:00am with that one minute of non-downtime.

this comment section did not pass the vibe check. Learn to set boundaries with ur kids that they will follow with integrity and gain trust on both ends. Don’t always look to restrictions and taking away electronics. If they don’t have the personal maturity to follow the rules then they shouldn’t have electronics at all smh🤔

Dear Apple,

My kids iPad have 60+ games. I set downtime to block usage at night, but they are using "one more minute" on every single app, which could last 60 minutes.

Can you completely remove the option "One more minute". When the time limit reached, I want the iPad to have only one option, which is "Enter Screen Time Passcode".

Thank you very much.

@fanglong – exactly! Apple, please, please --- can anyone help? We had to get a Chromebook and we miss iPad so much. We basically bought it for the screen time features, and this One More Minute defeats the purpose. Even our 4-year old as zoom meetings now, and I wish we could return the iOS without this terrible distraction. It's a self-defeating feature for Screen Time. Could we at least just be able to disable it?

With the update, if your child is 13 or older, they get the ‘1 more minute’ option. To disable this you have to login to their appleid account and change their birth year. If your child is 13 or older, the update takes away a lot of the security measures. Change their age to 12 or younger and they’re still considered a child, so security measures remain.

It occurred w one of the latest iOS updates. When my child turned 13 (last week) ALL the security measures changed, from access and ability to download any and all apps, to changing what type of apps they could download (12+ vs 17+), to adding the 1 more minute. I logged in to their appleid & changed the birth year to 2008, and the security measures were back in place.
