Voice memo stuck downloading

However, in my case AFAIK there never actually was any voice memo. It just seems to think there is one.

I will check it again over the next few days and see if it hopefully resolves itself.

Mines were backed up on other devices (i.e. iPad, Macmini, older iPhone) before I uninstalled the Voice Memo app. If you have other devices which were sync, they should show up there. However, to my understanding, since you did a full backup you should be able to do a restore.

If needed more assistance, I’ll do my best.

I spoke with a senior advisor who told me that "engineers are investigating this issue and could potentially be resolved on a future update" aka SOL -- if anyone has any troubleshooting ideas, would love some. I've lost a month and a half of voice memos that still show as Downloading on my iphone, but don't show on my mac anymore.

You need to keep resetting to factory settings and then reinstalling (manually) to the iCloud back up of your choice

Continue resetting to factory settings (no matter how many times it takes) until your memos download it took my brother 2 weeks but in the end the memos downloaded

The same thing has happened to me, only mine is an iPhone 7 and happened after the update...

I also have this problem with the iPhone 11 and iOS 13 update. Is there a fix???

Please Apple I really need those recordings. Let us know what to do to fix it plz

Wow, I am so sorry to hear that. I hope you can get those recordings soon. C'mon Apple, get these bugs fixed.

I’ve spent 3 hours on the phone to Apple Care, done a profile log data send to their engineers and even bought a new phone to restore from the oldest backup - still not downloading my memos! The new update was meant to fix this issue according to Apple

I see - so you don’t have those memos at all anymore or did they return from iCloud once you deleted off your device from within the app...?

My end game is to have all the memos downloaded and usable again - 3 years of song writing ideas right there...

In my case I didn’t actually have any voice recordings to download. But since I bought this phone it has been trying to download one. Now that is finally stopped.

For those who actually do have important recordings that won’t download, I hope this issue can be resolved for you all soon.

Hi - this issue happened to me too. I did the latest software update on my iPhone XS Max today (after I performed an iPhone back up) and all my Voice Memos got stuck on Downloading. So as in above last few posts I uninstalled the VoiceMemo app, reinstalled it and recorded a new voice memo for a few seconds. BUT I seem to have lost all my past voice memos going over last 3 years or so.

So - any ideas how I can get them back??

So this is where my lack of techie knowledge lets me down :( I assumed that as I back up my iPhone to the Cloud that I'd also be able to see my Voice Memos on my MacBook Pro (thinking data would back up to my MacBook at same time). But as I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Voice Memo app on my phone I can only see the few seconds Voice Memo I made earlier today. I can't see my old Voice Memos on my MacBook either.

I don't really want to do a restore from latest back up as had horrendous recent experience. when I got a replacement phone following a screen smash. It didnt' remember any of my app passwords and took me days and days to get everything back to how it was.

Can you "extract" specific items from a Cloud backup instead?
