Optimised battery charging - not working?

Hi I have a new iPhone 11, and I notice my iPhone over the last 2 nights goes to 100 percent in the middle of the night. So I presume it’s not work despite settings?

iPhone X and same here, does nothing, goes straight to 100% as if the feature doesn’t exist. I’d also like point out how utterly useless and pointless it is to just post saying people should check it’s switched on, seriously?

I too have downloaded all the updates plus turned off location services, backup services and refresh apps option with no change (battery is simply backing up to 100%). Spike with a tech who suggested a complete restore/reinstall but I’m unwilling to spend all this time to get my phone setup from scratch on the small possibility that this feature may work. I’m getting the impression that the feature may simply be flawed.

for sure this has nothing to do with location services or backups or anything like that - on my IOS devices, this functionality works sporadically (some nights it works, others it doesn't) but I have never switched any of those things off.

I suspect it's either working as intended and Apple didn't actually intend it to trigger every single night, or there is something more complicated like a particular app that is causing the issue.

Last night, both my IOS phones actually worked fine on this function, but the night before they didn't.

It is not working on my 11 pro running on 13.2. I talked to Apple support. Apparently there is no entry on their end of this issue. So perhaps report directly if the issue continues. Support told me that after every iOS update it will basically reset and it takes 5 days until the phone learns the charge pattern again. So this could be the issue. I am skeptical if this is the issue here, but will monitor. I asked to open a case anyway, so they can check. Again, if you continue to see this issue, let them know.

I have an 11 Pro Max. I’ve seen the notice on my screen 1 time since launch day. I thought it needed to learn my schedule. But I use Do not disturb & bedtime. You’d think that would automatically give it a clear picture of my schedule & when to stop & continue charging. After a couple weeks I got the notice & thought ok...it is learning my schedule. It’s been another 2 weeks & have never had the notification again.

I've never gotten this function to work either, just goes straight up to 100% for over a month. Wake up at like 6-7 am. I'm using an iPhone XR and a wireless Qi-certified charger. Does anyone know if it works with wireless chargers or not?

Will try a wired charger instead for a week and see if anything happens.

Agreed - I have an XR and have done absolutely everything and made all the adjustments recommended in the Community as well as by the Support person with absolutely no change in the charging <it goes right up to 100%>. My charging schedule is very consistent. The only other thing Apple recommended <which I'm not willing to do> is a complete reinstall. It's a great idea and hopefully will be operational in a future release but right now seems more of a dream than reality!

It started working about 3rd day after updating to 13.2.2. I toggled it off for a day, then back on & it started working. For the heck of it, I looked at my boss’ phone (she had no clue what I was talking about😂) & her’s isn’t working. Mine has been consistently working though at this point. Will be interesting to see what happens after the next update.

Mine started working initially, took 6 weeks to learn my charging habits, and for two days it worked, even though my battery was at 70% ish when i put it on charge. Last night and the night before, i went to bed at around the same time, but my phone was below 50% battery both times, and optimised charging didn’t kick in at all. On my battery health page i can’t even see what my peak performance is, i still have the message that tells you what the feature is, which apple support have assured me is normal, but this paired with optimised charging not working is making me thing there is a serious issue with iOS 13
