CarPlay not work on iPhone 11 Pro max

Hello, Yesterday I purchased an Iphone 11 pro Max and when I connected it to the car (Audi Q7 2017) he didn't want to connect with carplay. I have changed 2 original Apple cables and Carplay is not activated, just charge the phone. I mention that we have changed two original Apple Lighting-USB cables and besides charging the phone does not activate CarPlay.

I reset the MMI machine and still do not connect Carplay. I should mention that before I purchased Iphone 11 Pro Max I owned an Iphone XS and it worked perfectly it connects perfectly to Carplay.

Today I updated Iphone 11 Pro Max to iOS 13.1.2 and there is no difference, APPLE CARPLAY does not connect.

I ask a colleague or an Apple engineer to help me urgently fix the problem because I need Carplay to work on my new phone.

Thank you in advance.

Regads, Mihai

Was it the iPhone 11 Pro Max? I've seen several others that have reported issues with that phone exactly. I'm hoping iOS 13.4 has a fix in it. Apparently the beta versions work where iOS 13.3 did not.

We have 14 different phones that we test with each vehicle. We always keep the entire Apple lineup for two generations, the rest are Android.

90% of the time the beta works is because the car will generate a new Bluetooth profile for the phone, thereby not using the broken profile. Removing the broken profiles by factory resetting the navigation and removing the car from the phone is the correct way to resolve the issue. You shouldn't run a beta unless you're a developer. Most people don't have any correct backup strategy and risk losing a lot of information.

...problem solved for a week now...

So I too have an iPhone 11 Max Pro. My phone would not work with my CarPlay I updated the firmware on my phone to iOS 13.2 Beta. I then purchased a half meter .5m iPhone USB to lightning cable Apple OEM from Walmart $19 After plugging that cable into the USB port on my CarPlay stereo I have not had any problems everything seems to be working smoothly.

So it’s going to sound nuts but it works, I had the same problem, 6 hours onto Apple “customer support” shocking - even sent the phone off to be sent the phone back telling me there wasn’t a problem

I then randomly grabbed a USB C to lightning cable which had a USB C to USB A converter on, and hallelujah, works perfectly

Literally the most random fix I’ve ever come across

same problem for me with iPhone 11 pro max with Audi A3. It worked with my iPhone XS Max. Under setting, after having connected it with the usb cable, the phone does not connect to MMI. I am thinking to bring the phone to Apple assistance and have them trying it. And if it is still not working, asking for phone replacement. I don’t know if it’s a firmware problem, but if it’s not they have to do it.

Thanks.

Regards

Max

Not sure if Apply really monitors these posts but I found today that when I made sure the 11 Pro was fully charged it connected right away. For some reason the way on the Nissan they way it charges the phone and communicates with it has a problem. I Plugged my phone into a Volvo and a Cadillac. In both case the phone was not fully charge but it work.

iOS 13.4 may have fixed it for me. Downloaded the beta version last night and although there doesn’t appear to be anything about this issue in the release notes, I have tried it at 3 different charge levels (90%, 80% & 70% and so far all is ok. At each of these charge levels before it failed every time. Will continue to try at various charge levels and post again if it fails.

My 2018 Chevy Cruze and 2017 Porsche Macan both have Apple CarPlay. Neither work with my iPhone 11 Pro. Read the thread and signed up for beta. 13.4.2 Beta (17E5233g) did not fix my problem with both cars. Neither recognize the phone. Porsche just thinks its a iPod. Chevy does not recognize the phone through usb, but iPhone lets me connect the car in the CarPlay menu but nothing happens. Car settings are correct. I am using two different genuine apple thunderbolt cables (non-usb c). Really wish this feature worked...

Running a beta and connecting it to your car is not a good idea, the recommendations in this thread to do that are stop-gap solutions. Beta connection profiles stored in your cars system will just make more issues down the road. You might get lucky, you might not. If your car is running QNX, this will cause problems in the future.

You might think that your problems in your Chevy and Porsche are unrelated, They are not. They are the same problem because they run the exact same OS, called QNX, and the same exact version at 7.1. They just have different interfaces.

This is a known issue in QNX and happens from time to time. The connection profiles go sour sometimes.

You're going to lose some settings fixing this. The stored/previous destinations, address books and imported music will be gone.

First, go back to a full release on your iPhone. Make sure you remove all BT connections in your iPhone.

Let's do the Porsche first, because it's a Porsche and any day of the week I'd rather work on an interesting car.

Press the "Car" button.

Press the "Option" button.

Select "SET PCM system"

Then choose "Reset PCM".

You'll have two options here:

"Factory settings" and "Vehicle handover"

"Factory settings" won't remove the connection profiles from the radio, that's what we need to get rid of.

"Vehicle Handover" will remove ALL data including the bad connection profiles.

Let us know how it goes. If you have any further issues, please provide the System Version of your Porsche which can be found under "Info" -> "Option" -> "System Version". It'll be in a format like "2.24".

For those who are having issues with the Apple CarPlay I just recently had this issue and I’m driving a 2016 GMC Canyon what I did was I went into the settings of the vehicle and went to Apple CarPlay and I deleted all of the old iPhones that I had connected with it and then I clicked on add device as it was plugged in into the iPhone 11 Pro clicked on allow to display on the display screen as well as on my iPhone 11 Pro and it started working
