Microsoft Edge Win 7 desktop PC - I Tunes

Recently upgraded to Microsoft Edge browser using win7.

Since this occurred The preview player refuses to play any previews unless I've already bought them.

When buying an "oldie" I've run into several times when a song was re-recorded decades later by the original artists but not the original and I've wound up buying it only to delete it because it wasn't what I wanted.

If this is a new policy from I-tunes this is a rip-off because of the above stated problem... however

I've tried clicking on HELP and a notice says I'm not on line. I'm on line enough to be charged for music I don't want, but not to get i tunes help, or preview what I'm about to buy.

I have a problem free computer that is too old to upgrade to Win10 and can't afford one until next year. Apple says it's Microsoft's fault, Microsoft says consult Apple.

The player works perfectly when playing a tune from my Itunes library or if I've already purchased it, (in other words I have to buy it before I know it's not what I wanted it) but not to preview.

HELP... before you guys lose a customer.

The current version of iTunes is 12.10.1.4 - here is a link:

Anything older than 12.7.2.58 cannot access the store properly.

64-bit iTunes includes 32-bit components, that is normal.

The system restore was a disaster, so I undid it and am back to where I was before.

I've been reluctant to uninstall I tunes for fear of losing everything, so I've been just reinstalling over it.

This time I'll uninstall everything and try again.

I checked my MS antivirus and it has no history of guaranteed items or anything that was caught.

I also run a thorough check once a week and a quickie daily and have had no problems.

I'll let you know.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR PATIENCE WITH ME

additional questions

I only use my old HP desktop and don't have I-pods pads whatever they are and am wondering if disabling their functions would free up system resources as they seem to be running constantly.

You can certainly try disabling the services you're not using. iTunes may complain at launch time.

Works perfectly here. The store is essentially a website in a custom browser. It may piggy back on your default system browser. Have you uninstalled the Edge browser yet, or set another as default? Try clearing the cache from your browser and also in iTunes use Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Reset Cache.
