Cannot Sign-in to Music and TV App after Catalina 10.15.1

Hi All, I tried to sign into Music and the new TV app on my Mac and I don't seem to be able to get in. I get two different error messages could not connect to the iTunes Store "unknown error (1001)" and "unknown error (11556) make sure your connection is active? Does anyone else have this issue or tips on how to solve it? 😊

Hi all

Finally found solution without deleting your account. Thanks to Serge Rosenthaler for his reply on another post.

1) sign out of iCloud on your Mac

2) Open Terminal & use the following commands:

sudo -v

***Enter Your Mac Password***

killall -9 accountsd com.apple.iCloudHelper

rm -rf ~/Library/Accounts

killall -9 accountsd com.apple.iCloudHelper

3) restart your Mac

4) Open Music App & sign in to your account (You should sign in to your account)

5) Check your TV & Podcast Apps (You should sign in to your account)

6) Open System Preferences & go to iCloud (You should sign in to your account) just activate iCloud Drive

I have this very same problem. See the other thread on this issue.

I have this same issue on my 2019 iMac. I have been in contact with Apple Support several times over the past few days and spoken with numerous Advisors with no successful result.

I do not have this problem on my 2017 MacBook Air which is running Catalina 10.15.1.

I have tried re-installing Catalina 10.15.1 on my iMac and the problem is still there.

I have also changed my Apple ID and the problem is still there.

On my iMac I am getting the same errors as you.

Not very happy as I mainly use the iMac for my music.

This issue just started yesterday for me. New MBP purchased in mid October. Never had an issue, until I was trying to activate my TV+ trial. I'm still able to sign in to TV and Music apps on every other device (iPhone and ATV).

Very frustrating, all the solutions I've seen recommend signing in and the out of the store... not very helpful when you can't sign in.

Same issue here, although I am able to sign in to the App Store from MacBook Pro (2019) can't sign in to Apple Music or Apple TV (just got this MacBook on Friday). Just logged in to my iMac (Late 2014) and have no problems with Apple TV+ or Music, both running Catalina OS 10.15.1. All other Apple devices running iOS and TVOS 13 work fine with no issues.

I have the same issue after I decided to format my MBP mid 2012 for the first time.

It seems that with the end of iTunes on Catalina apple made a mess with accounts connections, now we have books connection (working), App Store (Working), iCloud (Working), iTunes Store on Music (NOT Working), TV (Not Working) Cannot authorise the device or Sign in. Errors are 11556 and 1001 and the Fuse thing.

Checked apple ID , Country and Region Date/Time, Number of allowed Devices (5), and cleanned the /var/db/crls/ cache.

The problem is only on MBP all other devices are ok.

Apple service status says that iTunes services are working well on my country and region (Portugal), But seeing here all this comments with the same problem at the same time, it seems that this is a brand new problem that is global to iTunes service.

Another thing that doesn't work is reinstalling OSX.

So I created a new user account, and now from that new administrator account, I can log into Apple TV app and see my library. Seems very awkward to have to log into an entirely different account to access my TV/Movie/Music library. If I want to watch something, I'm in user account B. Can I possibly transfer settings, files, etc from user account A to User account B?

I had the same issue after updating with Catalina. I have been on the phone with apple engineers and no-one has fixed the issue. I did find a work around though not ideal. Create a new admin account on your computer. Log into iCloud, install all your programs, update how you want your Mac etc. Go back and erase your previous admin account and ensure it is 100% deleted and nothing stored on your computer. Now you will be able to log into Apple Music and Apple TV....Like I said not ideal, took about 3 hours of reinstalling software on the new user account, uploading everything from iCloud, putting setting back like I wanted but it works....

I guess the only option is to wait for a release of Catalina small update.

On chat with apple I only wasted time. Either go back to Mojave or wait for an update, the only thing we can do is let them know the issue is here and post these comments so they know it's a priority for that system.

I did not have the same issue when I went through Mojave to Catalina Beta, beta had it's own issues (Google Drive didn't work, other software had some small issue). But then again, installing public release of Catalina from scratch, leads to problems for Music and TV.
