Microphone not working iphone 7 iOS13.3

After struggling with this issue for nearly six months I found the only solution is to get the audio ic chip repaired. How it relates to an iOS update is unclear.

As Apple don’t provide an affordable option you’ll have to find a third party to undertake the repair.

Please follow these steps. Let me know if it works.

1.Go to settings > general >reset> reset all settings.

2.Do a soft reset. (PRESS Home+Lock Key+Volume Down Button all at the same time). Phone will reboot.

After this, you can follow the initial instruction that I have posted. Go to Settings>Accessibility>Audio/Visual>by then you will be able to see the phone noise cancellation option. Make sure to turn it off.

Try recording a voice message using Voice memos to see if it works.

My solution was the iPhone 11proMax, replacing the board is more than the trade value of the phone. And there is not currently a program from Apple to address the issue. Unfortunately it’s upgrade time.

Missing Noise cancellation in settings

1. Press home + power button + volume down button.
2. Check settings- accessibility- audio/visual- noise cancellation.
3. Turn off noise cancellation.

i thought I should provide an update here. I had to fight it out with Apple and got an exemption that they look at my phone because the issue happened after software update. Once I got the exemption they replaced my phone with a brand new same model handset.

The same happening with my IPhone 7 Plus since the last update to 13.3.

Performed every step mentioned by Djajiv30.

Already contacted Apple Support, they found no hardware issue but weren’t able to help fixing it either.

Does anyone found any solution?

Omg i have the same issue too. I can only make a phone calls or voice record using my airpods. My iphone 7 cant even detect my earphones.. whenever i plug it in the sound still came out frm the phone speaker! Does anyone get to solve this??

Did the update, I have the same problem. I’ve never been so irritated in my life. Apple, fix this. I don’t want a new phone, I don’t need a new phone. Microphone worked PERFECT day before the update & now the phone thinks it has headphones in when it doesn’t.

I as well had a replacement phone sent. But I’m scared to update it. I haven’t updated since I got the new phone a couple months ago. But apple was actually really good about it and replaced the phone

Hi guys! Heres an update . I wrote about my iphone 7 months ago. So heres an update of how it is now. For the past 1 month i notice that sometimes my phone is functioning well but i need to restart my phone a lot of time. And the fastest way of knowing whether your phone is still muted is when you restart your phone, the wifi logo is grey out. This will happen for 1 minute right after the phone is turn on. Picture below shows that the mic is still not working if the wifi is grey out. So i will restart my phone and somtimes knock the mic area a few times (the old way of solving problems) because it helps hehehe i know its not good but thts the only way i could get the mic working.. Tbh, theres nothing you could do to fix it properly. Just try while you still can sksks HAVE FUN KNOCKING! Hehehe

Same same. iPhone 7+ working perfectly right up until 13.5.1- now no microphone.

Took it to Apple tech, they advised I’d have to replace the phone.

fix for camera is out in beta..but not the microphone.. :(

I also have the same problem since 13.1 and 13.4 hasn’t fixed it. Apple say it’s a hardware problem that happen exactly at the same time as the update which is nonsense.

Is this recognised as a problem by Apple?
