I am on iOS 13.3 and not long ago I just updated.My microphone was working perfectly and suddenly stopped working. The microphone does not work with all the other apps including Voice memos. I am also experiencing problems during calls and the speaker seems to be grey. The only time the microphone works is when I have my Air pods Pro on then it does pick up sound sometimes. The calls work perfectly with my Air pods Pro on. Please help!!!!

After struggling with this issue for nearly six months I found the only solution is to get the audio ic chip repaired. How it relates to an iOS update is unclear.
As Apple don’t provide an affordable option you’ll have to find a third party to undertake the repair.

Same issue - We have nearly 5 apple gadgets as of today in our household of 2 people - 2 phones, 2 ipads and a Mac. I am moving away from Apple now - this is disgusting.
so what can i do to fix it ?
The new phone now has 2 years extra Manufacturer (Apple) warranty so go ahead and update all you want till you have the warranty and then don’t :)
This is encouraging hearing solutions, so how would i go about getting the same? Any pointers?

my camera stopped working too and i updated to ios 14.0.1 and the camera started working again, but still no luck with my microphone
My microphone was also broken is iOS13 on an iPhone 7 and remains broken on iOS14.1
I have the same issue...first was the Microphone after 13. something upgrade about 3 weeks ago.....went done Apple Serv Centre in Singapore, ask me to replace a with a NEW iPhone 7 with a high cost!!! another Iphone 7 at the ridiculous price? its definitely implying to get a new model. what is the problem? sound card faulty!!! Crazy!!!!
After they take away my sound card, thought this upgrade will resolve it, like everyone else, they now take away my camera!!!
Dear Apple, let us have the option to restore back to the previous version if the phone cannot support. My Iphone6plus stops upgrading at 12.4.8. no issue for the iphone now all working fine but I do not know whether there will be problem after this post...=(
Best part is, because of this upgrade, i cannot restore my backup to iph6+. Apple, can you do something about this, like many i am stuck!!!!
I have a similar problem after upgrading to IOS 13.7 and the problem did not go away after the IOS 14 upgrade. My iPhone 7+ rings but I can’t answer it...there’s no audio and the microphone doesn’t work either. Apple support could not help and AT&T just said to call Apple. Oddly, my Apple Watch and iPad both allow me to answer calls...
After i updated to the ios 14 my camera stopped working it will go on and off but it stays off like all the time, And when i did the ios 13 update my mic stopped working so my phones not really working any more can somone help.
I just did the last two updates and now my microphone not working! I noticed it last Friday, October 30, 2020. However, I can hear the phone ring, play music & watch movies. However, I can only talk on my iPhone 7s Plus if on Bluetooth in my car or with my earbuds in.
Apple you need to fix this!!
