HUGE memory leak in Safari, Web Kit, cause "This page must be reloaded

After security update and Safari 13.1 update I got a huge memory leak in Safari. Memory consumption for some pages grows indefinitely (looking for it in System Monitor), causes "This page slow down a computer and must be reloaded" message. Obviously the same bug causes iPhone slowdown in applications that uses Web Kit. Apple, U doing REALLY BAD JOB in this OS cycle!

OK, I thought I was alone. This is also happening after latest developer security update. I'm on Mojave 10.14.6 (18G5006). Same issue you describe + WebKit crash. Safari is unusable.

There are several threads open with same issue.

Tried with no luck: Cleared caches, history. Disabled extensions. Deleted cache files (for WebKit & Safari).

What works: Logging in as a clean user. So there's some conflict with latest security updates and something in Safari at the user-level.

Hey there, Serge,

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities. I understand that you've been having some trouble with Safari recently and would be happy to help!

Based on what you've described, Safari seems to be running a bit slow, and is using more resources than you'd expect. Based on that, I'd recommend using the steps in If Safari is slow, stops responding, quits unexpectedly, or has other issues - Apple Support to start troubleshooting.

You may also find help in the Apple Support article Safari troubleshooting on Mac - Apple Support.

Best.
