MBP 16" 2019 CRASHES WHILE SLEEPING

ANYONE else having a problem with their MacBook Pro going to sleep then crashing? EVERY single day for 4 days now this prompt comes up that says "Your computer was restarted because of a problem." I Purchased a fully loaded 16" MacBook Pro January 2020. A $5000.00 Computer. I have had NOTHING but issue since. The report begins with panic(cpu 0 caller 0xffffff8004a91b2c): Sleep transition timed out after 180 seconds while calling power state change callbacks. Suspected bundle: com.apple.iokit.IOGraphicsFamily. Thread 0x1fbc0. After searching I see 582 people have this same problem...REALLY APPLE? Suggestions were made to others who called apple support and they reinstalled their entire systems, reinstalled this, reinstalled that...I don't know about anyone else but I don't have time for all of that nonsense ESPECIALLY after spending $5k on a computer. Finally I found where a person requested the logic board to be replaced and the issue stopped. If Apple can't get their quality assurance in check I will be spending my money elsewhere. I want this computer replaced.

I also ended up having my 16 inch 2019 MacBook Pro sent in to Apple under AppleCare to fix the problem. Same things replaced on mine as on others who have reported: Logic Board and TouchID Boards both replaced. It was a pretty quick process taking only about 3-4 days (despite a warning of possibly taking 2 weeks.)

Everything working fine at this point.

If you have the same computer (regardless of specs as this is a problem independent of that) I would recommend sending your computer in before any AppleCare coverage runs out.

Two days ago I received my 2019 16" ($3,600) MBP replacing my 2015 MBP...

...and with a clean from the factory install, no applications loaded, no settings changed, first time it went to sleep it crashed. Second time it went to sleep it crashed. It has continued to crash EVERY SINGLE TIME it goes to sleep since then.

I am EXTREMELY unhappy. I was considering switching to a PC and now really regret my decision to stick with Apple. More confirmation that Apple products have continued to get worse and worse with every release... A $3,600 laptop with average hardware SHOULD NOT CRASH NEW OUT OF THE BOX... no laptop, should crash new out of the box.

Apparently this is not an isolated incident and the original post is from January, 4 months ago. Has there been any response from Apple? Anyone found a solution?

Yes! Yes! That is it! I did install the most recent version of Catalina and this began. So my question now is...Does anyone ever read the reports sent in? Why isn’t Apple acknowledging this problem in the update? What can be done to get this fixed? I finally opted for shutting my computer down every day. Isn’t it possible this continued crashing would be difficult for the life of the hard drive? Thank you for your reply.

I received my Macbook i9 2.3Ghz in mid March. I also have the issue crashing while in sleep mode. The supplemental update did not resolve the issue. I have been using Apple products for over 25yrs. This is very disappointing, to say the least.

My concern is, it is a hardware issue and I will have to rebuild the whole device again. For what I use mine for, that is several days of work to get everything configured again.

Please, Apple, stop ignoring this issue!!! You will lose valid customers, especially those like me that know both MacOS and Windows very well. I don't want to use Windows full time, but will if my almost $4K MacBook is built to sub-par standards.

Frustrated customer!

Installed the latest updates, running on Catalina. But the updates didn't do the Job for me. Had just another crash...

I spoke too soon. Yesterday, seemingly worked fine but this midday when opening my computer said that my computer restarted because of a problem and then this panic(cpu 2 caller 0xffffff8002416487): "AppleIntelFramebuffer::setPowerState(0xffffff86971d2000 : 0xffffff7f859cad88, 1 -> 0) timed out after 45964 ms"@/AppleInternal/BuildRoot/Library/Caches/com.apple.xbs/Sources/xnu/xnu-6153.101.6/iokit/Kernel/IOServicePM.cpp:5296

I am experiencing this issue on a very frequent basis, almost once per day. My computer spends almost all of its time asleep, open and connected to two 4k monitors. I have only seen it crash when it is sleeping in this setup.

I can see that people are saying that reseting the SMC and supplemental updates have fixed the issue but these have not helped me.

Hey, just now it crashed again. I just found it with the fans at max, hot enough to boil eggs on it. Then it shut off and restarted to the state, i would find it when in crashed during sleep.

Someone mentioned a supplementary Update? I don't have any updates in the sys-prefs nor the app-store. Do people still have this problem?

It started for me, after it installed the latest update 10.15.4. This is a software problem, which renders my 5k mbp unstable. I would really appreciate immediate support!

It's the same specs as the thread owner. Also use Bootcamp.

Just got my new 16" 2019 MacBook Pro a few days ago and experienced this "crashing while sleeping" phenomenon a few times now. Just downloaded CoconutBattery 3 and my laptop was manufactured 1/20/2020. So I'm not sure if the date matters here. I did do a fresh install after receiving the device because I wanted to set up multiple partitions. I was worried it was related to that, but guess it's not looking at how common this issue is.

Having the same issue since weeks - confronted with apple support recommending the usual things and finally to contact the display manufacturer. Ha, you need to search 10s in google to find that tons of users have the same problem and no OS reinstallation helps. Having tried all recommended septs - also disabling power nap does not help in my case.
