Hello - I just got a new MacBook Pro 13", 2 Ghz i5, 16gb RAM. Trying the Final Cut Pro demo and even on the most basic of projects I'm getting repeated beach balls. Wondering if there is something I have setup wrong? Could it be a hardware problem? Catalina issue?
I have contacted Apple again today and sent them more diagnostics and logs but I don't know how long this will take, I have been move to another department, 6 weeks in contact with Apple, all I can suggest is just keep calling them and get on their case. I will have some more findings next week, so far Apple hasn't helped for the past 2 weeks, just been given useless engineers so hopefully this one will be better
Awesome to hear. I am currently gravitating towards the same decision even though the reason I bought a 13” was the form factor.
I managed to reproduce the issue during a screen share session with Apple Support and provided them with a lot of info so hopefully they will be able to figure out what is happening.
The formfactor was also for me an important (and the only?) reason to buy a 13 inch. But when you work a little bit with the 16 inch model, this isn`t important anymore! It is much more quite and the dedicated GPU is great for video editing.

Hi everyone, new member here, joined for this exact same issue: I can't believe that I spent 2.300 EUR on a new MacBook Pro (due to the last one having the unfixable "Bad Magic" Error apparently caused by a faulty T2 chip) and I'm still having problems working with a brand new device!
Aside from regularly checking this thread to see if Apple responded or someone found a workaround: is there anywhere else I can make my voice heard to notify Appel of this issue?
I have wasted hours and hours with trying to get help from the Apple support. I am experiencing the same problem and fear that this is not something I can fix. Both program and MacBook are way too expensive for a performance like this!
I really hope Apple is going to fix this issue.

I been having this problem brutally. Saturday I have another call with a senior advisor. I am hoping to get my 13 inch 2020 MBP returned and then get a 16 because I am seeing a lot of people say the 16s work better for them. Truly a shame. Good luck to everyone!
On a call with a senior advisor now, and they're saying I should try a full clean install of my OS.
This seriously cannot be an option. At this point, I just want to get rid of this 13 and get a 16 and be done with this. Given all the things I've read in this thread about people with 13's switching to 16s and everything working as intended I am done exhausting options.

Could you give details about the media and where it’s stored? also what are the specs of the computer.
yeah I turned it off as it appears to be a bit buggy. I’ll try uninstalling it as well. It’s been my cloud backup solution for years but I might try iCloud backup.
Are you still having performance issues with final cut pro on this 2020 machine? Mine is crashing and has very performance across the board
