iPhone XS screen right side not responding for touching

It’s very important we all make this issue known to Apple.

I am speaking with a Apple representative again tomorrow and will direct them to threads on this discussion.

My argument is if the iPhone X is covered with the repair/replace why is the iPhone XS not ? Exact same problem? We all need to make a report to Apple

Me either buddy, mostly everyone here don’t know how to resolve it. I’m still living with this issue and it sucks. It’s just apples fault, hopefully they can hear us out and fix this issue for us. Like seriously what’s taking so long :(

I have the same problem after updating my software couple of weeks ago. It's crazy that Apple did nothing to resolve this issue. I was planning to upgrade and get another Iphone but now maybe I should reconsider.

So a quick update to my last post. I’ve not yet experienced the same issue since. I’ve noticed another update for iOS 14.6 but again now reluctant to update given battery issues I’ve read.

I was on iOS 14.4.1 then updated to 14.5 if that helps you @fadayopaul.

Still think this needs to be addressed by Apple. Wanting to keep this thread alive as long as possible for it to be taken seriously by them.

who knows they may even put out a free repair program ;P.

So another update to this issue. I'm now experiencing it for the second time. Since the last update noting has changed whatsoever. Same iOS - no screen protector etc.

Charged the phone overnight (left on charge around 12am and took off 7am).

Waiting for iOS 15 - anyone else had any further look contacting or getting Apple's attention on this?

From what I'm reading all over the place is this is certainly a software issue.

@Apple really need to look into this as I cannot continue to use my phone like this.

I’m currently experiencing the same issue on my iPhone SE 2nd gen. It was working fine. And then all of a sudden it just stopped working. And I don’t know how to fix it. I was on a chat support with an apple tech earlier and he couldn’t help me also. I’m currently on iOS 14.6

Same problem just happened to my iPhone XS 45 minutes ago, came on my laptop and started googling and found this thread. Bc of travel plans, cannot address the issue until the weekend but from reading responses seems as if Apple is ignoring the problem anyways. Admittedly, I didn't read all 11 pages on here, but some info about my situation: I was in the middle of playing a game on my phone when it the entire screen became unresponsive. I closed the app and suddenly my phone had a mind of its own. It was opening and closing apps, and I was swiping like crazy to try and get to settings. Once I opened settings the phone was going in and changing up things so fast I still have no idea what was changed. Thought I was hacked, powered down phone. Waited some time, powered on, and now right side will not work. Did the ghost touching happen to anyone else? Also, I am not savvy with technology at all, but is there anything in the Assistive Category in settings that might help temporarily patch the problem? Saw this on another site but was for older software.

I have the same problem with my iPhone XR too!

It started as touchscreen going crazy (ghost touch and swipes) and then became an unresponsive zone on the right side.

The phone never dropped. Always used with case and screen protector. LOOKS AS BRAND NEW!

Apple user for 20 years or more.

Oops idk why it didn’t load my text (so I’m pasting it in the replies) I’m just now getting this issue too. My c and f key don’t work (I have to use other means I.e. autocorrect or mic which is very annoying/tedious.) also when I first looked this up a tip told me to restart my phone (didn’t work) but the first 20 times I couldn’t do it bc I couldn’t slide the power off button bc (same issue for the keys and also answering calls- weird bc when I answer calls I sometimes get the two (red and green) hang up or pick up buttons which I can answer but sometimes get sliding to answer which is weird why this is inconsistent but I can’t answer calls when the sliding option is what appears.)

So beyond frustrated and annoyed at the useless “genius” bar. Not helpful and reset my phone which did absolutely nothing but erase my data. Out for our $$$ and this issue of my right side of xs not working is going to make me an android user instead of purchasing all apple products which I do now along with my husband. No more apple for me if they don’t respond to people’s questions regarding why this is happening to so many of us!!! And repair for free instead of charging an outrageous fee.

I'm also having the same Issue in my Iphone XS after updating to IOS 4.7.1 before that I'm not having this issue, I tried hard reset, erase settings, factory reset, updated to IOS fifTeen 3eta 8, again downgraded to IOS 14.8 but the issue still present, Do any one got solutions?

having same issue iphone xs, cant type letter p or 0 . sometimes it will work but not very often,, did the note draw thing and whole right side is out, it started yesterday and also when it started the phone was acting really slow and freezing, so when i got home i ended up updating to io15 thinking it may help, but nope, nothing i have tried has helped , besides using left handed keyboard... got my phone thru att and have insurance on it but havnt contacted them yet. anybody found a solution ?

This seems to have resolved my issue - at least temporarily.

iPhone XS was not responding to touch for about 1” along the left edge of the screen.

I noticed when the Lock Screen is displayed, the flashlight button worked even though it was located in the non-responsive area.

I hard pressed and held the flashlight icon (feeling the haptic/3D touch sensation) while swiping up to unlock my phone.

My touch issue was immediately gone - although it might just be coincidence.

Perhaps doing the same thing with the camera icon on the Lock Screen may resolve a touch issue along the right side of the screen.

This is the part which is not responding well. is this just a software problem? i can still touch the screen but if i press it multiple times.

Did you try restoring as new? I am having the same problem with the right side of the screen.
