Battery drain after iOS 14 update.

I had installed the new ios 14 and my battery drained from 90% to 10% without me even touching the phone. This has never happened before.

Please Apple fix asap.

There is a software issue and this has affected more than 10,000 of iPhones. It’s not something we are doing wrong. Apple needs to fix this ASAP! Or refund us all 1,000$ We pay good money for their products because they’re reliable. This is absolutely insane 😡

The point of an update is that it will make your system secure again or better secured. It will cost an amount of resources to do this. Apple has masked the use of battery en healt status, my battery was still 89% healty. My iphone lasted for a few hours at last. Newer ios will not always run as snappy, was the chat information served me.

Whit a new battery replacement my iphone runs smooth again, on ios 14.3.

Sometime an app will trigger a battery drainage. The best way to figure this out is a reset of your ipad and find out if it still ocurs.

App’s that show ad’s and older writen code can be sloppy. In app advertising is a big pain in your wallet but Apple changed this policy resently, to use it in a family account.

Older iPhones respond atypical in showing the health status. I had a healty status of 89% but the battery discharged rapid during a couple of hours. So Apple repair installed a new battery and now it run unused for at least 3 day’s or even more. Spending money on a battery and older iPhone was a good investment.

The reason of a confused health status is because I used a juice pack, most of the time.

I have not read all of the responses, but this happened to me as well. Eventually I even lost phone service. I called my service provider and they put me in touch with apple. They checked the ID number of my iPhone 7, and it is one of a group of phones that seem to be missing the proper antenna parts. So the phone is endlessly searching for service (even when the service was working) and the battery drains immediately. I had to take my phone to an apple store and they gave me a loaner and repaired my phone and replaced the battery! And it worked great for about 3 weeks, but now something is draining it again. Call apple, or call your local store, most of the informed people have heard of the problem- you just have to get to someone who has, and they can check to see if your phone is one of the defective ones.

Try a factory reset again, and make a complet fresh install. No apps, dont go on wifi. Try this for a couple of day’s to find out if the battery issues still occurs. Did you replace the battery at Apple’s or certified?

Domotica can also can contain malware. Try a factory reset an make sure u do the latest firmware update from the website of the manufactor.

Looks so. This problem occurred to my phone straight after the iOS update. The day before there was no such problem.

Today I’ve checked my battery life, it’s 84% so far, so I don’t think I need to replace it. And I think the problem is in iOS software.

I’ll try to reset to factory settings and see if it helps, but it is pain.(((

Yes it is a pain. If it occurs to often, thats why there is an item here. Good luck with the reset, I have changed my battery at the Mac store. It helped a lot to me, I have an older iPhone 5s witch has no problems at all. Are they better? Does it happens to a seven or eight or X as well. Many questions ahead.

it is the iOS 14 that causes this issue.

I reported this issue last year.

An operating system update should not require anyone to reset the phone to factory setting or battery replacement as some are suggesting.

This is the price consumers are paying for not buying an iphone 12.

There are a large number of decent smartphones in the market with much better battery performance.

Due to apple's lack of response to this issue, I moved on to a different brand and am very glad I did so.

It's absolutely ridiculous that within 2 hours of removing my 6s Plus from the charger the battery strength has dropped from 100% to 1%. I can't rely on it when I have to leave home. Even keeping it plugged in and charging in my car while using navigation causes a major drain. I'm very fed up and aggravated that there's been no acknowledgment or announcement from Apple about this issue. You need to step up now or lose many users to other phone providers.

I had battery drop outs on ios 13.x and neglected the battery by use a click on battery pack all the the time. With apps I am always very carefull because they can been poor writen or simply not been updated and use a lot of system resources. There are so many app’s out now and they all should somehow be ready for the latest version. When is Apple willing to investigate this sort of issues?
