iPhone keeps freezing after iOS 14 update

@wirelessly, I think you’ve found a temporary work around, but unfortunately not a solution. It will reoccur for you.

other temporary fixes are also a hard reset, and I find locking the screen and unlocking also helps for a while.

I wish Apple would pull their finger out and fix this.

In my experience, IOS14.5 and 14.5.1 introduce another problem in that some of my favourite, older apps no longer work at all.

Android is calling strongly!!

I agree the other two work for me as well at times. However first sign of trouble now seems to be intermittent responsiveness or strange app behaviour. If I close apps at that point it does not freeze it would appear.

Check this out if it helps. My suspicion is the mail client like your gmail or outlook and you have a lot of emails. Over the time this could cause an intermittent freeze. Try to remove them if possible and monitor see the issue goes away.

I’m running the latest and it’s still doing this. I’ve reset to new and still having issues! My friend who has a 12 also has issues with text messages going hidden as well have I. But having apps foreclose is an annoyance. I’ve called apple they’ve not been helpful nor has Best buy who reset my phone for me. I have the 11 max pro ... pulling my hair out with this one

Same here. IPhone 11 Pro keeps freezing in all different allocations since the iOS 14 update. Just called all my friends who I support and told them to wait 14.1! When will it come?

I have the Iphone 11 and it keeps freezing also. All apps. I have to close and reopen. Very frustrating.

Not all phones react the same way. You need to start with a forced reboot - Force reboot device - Apple Support

If you restored from a backup then the backup is corrupt. try setting up as new.

It is freezing on two different phones in my home.... 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max. I think it is an Apple problem and hoping for 14.1 to address it. Meanwhile I am telling people to wait before updating.

yes that is possible. People panic but with a few days and patience things can be resolved.
