iPhone keyboard lag iOS 14

Guys can anyone confirm what my findings are. That it's really only in iMessage and that it happens when getting banner notifications, and typically in threads that have pictures or videos in them? Like to get it to lag if I just send a bunch of pictures to someone with texts in between I'll notice typing lags down. And it will happen in WhatsApp but only when I get a banner notifications for iMessage. I think this is really am iMessage issue more so than keyboard but they work in conjunction bc I'm on gboard now and it won't lag at all

I think I found the issue. Under “Settings > General > Dictionary” it appears 3 different dictionaries where checked. Two English and One Spanish-English. I unchecked all but the first one, reset my dictionary for good measure as others have stated and the lag is gone.

It’s been 2 days now and I haven’t experienced the keyboard lag since doing the keyboard dictionary reset, turning iMessage on and off, and hard reset. I used to get it at least twice a day before. We’ll see how it continues to go

I reset keyboard dictionary and the lag stopped.

No idea if it’s a fix yet as it’s only been a few hours but I deleted a third party keyboard called Bitmoji and my keyboard lag hasn’t happened since. 🤞🏼

just found out a solution. Just remove emoji on the keyboard. Then it’s back to smooth

Just updated to 14.1 and the lag seems to be gone.

I hard reset my iPhone 11 and it fixed the problem.

It’s the Keyboard trying to load previous used words ( AI not powerful enough). General -> reset -> reset keyboard.

I found 14.2.1 to still have the lag. 5 days on 14.3 I believe now and no lag.....

Articles have also mentioned disabling iMessage and FaceTime. Restarting the device and reactivating the two services.

Ok I’m finally somewhat able to reproduce it. I sent someone a pic and got one reply. Every time I opened the thread my pic was there and every time I opened the thread and went to type, lag. I would back out and go into another thread without a pic recently and would type and it was fine. Back out go back to that first thread and the pic is still visible, lag

Two days here since I turned off almost everything under location privacy. A couple stutters here and there but nothing crazy yet. Was waitin a few more days before I reported results but I watched a video on YouTube of these guys talking about everything to turn off on ios14 here : https://youtu.be/1Ptvz5SIZ4M

I just updated to iOS 14.2 Beta on Friday, so far the lagging has stopped, the delay on the camera also stopped, so I guess I’ll be staying with iOS 14.2

Interesting. I was experiencing the lag on 14.0.1 and now on 14.1 it's gone (so far, at least). I'm on an iPhone 11 Pro.
