Mac OS Catalina (10.15) with HP OfficeJet 8620 installed wirelessly. Has been working fine until today when I received subject message. I am unable to find "Easy Scan" on my computer so cannot delete it as indicated by previous support recommendations. Also, I am unable to connect to the printer and am a bit queasy about reinstalling it with the malware.

I got both printer and scanner to work on my iMac.
I went to HP Support and searched and found " 'HPxxxxx.framework' will damage your computer," which is one of the many error messages I have received.
As instructed, I made sure my OS was up to date.
I followed the instructions to Download HP Easy Start. (Note, the first HP Easy Start link worked, but the second link did not)
Critical: After downloading this, do not go directly to installing the drivers. Follow the instructions which say "The following should not be necessary but if you want to be extra diligent and guarantee a clean new install."
As instructed, click on the HP Easy Start menu and select Uninstall HP Software. I did not do that the first time and the remaining HP files on my computer allowed me to get the printer working, but not the scanner.
After uninstalling HP software, I followed the instructions to download the Essential files and HP Easy Scan.
One of the final steps is to test the Printer (worked the first time) and Scanner (got an error message.) I tried the scanner again and the document I was scanning appeared in the Easy Start test area. Then, I tried Easy Scan and it worked also.
It worked and is a good work around till HP gets it's act together. Thank you to the original poster .
I reinstalled the printer using AirPrint and checked for an HP update, but there isn't one available. I still have the problems getting the scanner to work.
That worked, but what a pain to have to do this.
I don't have this option under Copyright to uncheck the Override....? Not sure what I can do...
I tried Amazon Jackie's solution above on my HP Officejet Pro 8600. Error messages are now gone BUT still can't scan. (Print function still working).
How can I fix the problem with this issue? I need to scan documents for work??
I’ve tried this with no luck. In fact when I deleted my printer and tried to add it back, it couldn’t be found.
I just used this technique to override on "HPScanner" in /Library/Image Capture/Devices, and it allows my HP Photosmart C4680 scanner to function again. Thanks for the tip!

Neither can I. This should be a non-issue for an excellent printer.

I've had the same problem.
Is there a fix for a stand-alone HP Scanjet G4050 scanner? To date, I'm only seeing fixes for HP Scanner/Printers.
