iPhone 12 Pro Keyboard sounds, notifications and lock sounds volume low

I'm also having the same issue, especially while typing... the clicking sound is sometimes louder and sometimes quiter, I really don't know what can cause such as problem. I'm curious if it's something to get fixed with an ios update or it's my phone defective (iphone 12 mini user).

Well it did improve but did not fix completely. I still miss notifications when the phone is lying right next to me. And if it does it's to faint I can barely hear it.

This is getting really frustrating. I want me iPhone X back. But I kind of think it's a software problem, come to think of it I'm gonna try and monitor my wifes iPhone 11 pro.

I’ve had my iPhone 12 for a little over a month and have never had as many irritating issues with any other apple product! My texts notification sound doesn’t work half the time, now my keyboard typing sound is only working intermittently. When I research it seems there are multiple complaints right & left for the past 3 months!!

oh my god!! i’m SO glad people are having the same issue as me!! only thing is i have the 11 pro max and i’m having the EXACT SAME ISSUE!!! i told apple about it and they wanted me to reset my phone. so i did it and i still have the same issue. anyone on here with an 11 series with the same issue?

it’s happening here on my 11 pro max. and apple thinks its a hardware issue. ive sent them this link multiple times and they dont wanna read it. it’s DEFINITELY an ios bug that isnt fixed and its seriously annoying me that they wont even try to troubleshoot it.

well the workaround did work.. thank you seriously thank you. i wouldve never guessed to change that. i guess ill keep it like that until apple wants to recognize this as an ACTUAL SOFTWARE issue instead of a hardware issue. thank you

i agree. apple really needs to fix this and stop blaming it on the phone. it’s obviously a software issue. try taking the phone in and showing them this discussion page. everytime ive sent it to them they just ignore it and dont read it

I tried the up/down/off and first time locking again and I saw how loud the old shut down click USED to be. But just one time.

Then I sat here and open and closed the phone without stopping and on the 12th time it was loud again....but just that once. Well, I kept trying and 10-14 more tries till I got a loud shutoff. Kept on trying then two more and got a loud one. Then 14 more until I got another loud one. But by then thumb was getting tired and gave up.

I’m sorry to say this did not help - sound notifications on my locked iPhone for certain apps which previously worked, still do not. The sound notifications work when the app is front on the unlocked iPhone 12 mini.

Is this for real? I just purchased the

iphone 12 mini from iphone 6 and I am appalled. I paid way too much for this to have so many ridiculous issues. I do not have that much time left before my 15 days are up. Would you suggest I return the iPhone 12 mini and just get 11 even though its huge?

In response to other replies I do hear a drastic difference when I set the ringtone and text tone to the same exact selection (testing both set to same selection within the sound settings) I really do like the size of the 12 mini and other than the sound issues it seems okay. I need to update due to various apps not working with old IOS version in my iphone 6…but I don’t want to pay this much to continuously have these problems with 12. Is this a software issue that will get resolved or advisable to exchange the phone altogether for an 11? At this rate my old iphone 6 seems better. Which is just sad.

Texting keystroke sounds go up and down while texting in same session. Its just weird. I know my phone was really old but it never had these issues.

I am running out of time and even though I 100% love the size of the 12 Mini …I think I may be sadly forced to return it for an 11. I am very dissatisfied with the Apple publicly acknowledging this issue with sound/volume .

To put it in simple terms:

It is “inconsistently” consistent.

So would you suggest I just keep this new iphone 12 mini and wait for them fix software issues or return altogether while I still have time and go back to iphone 6 without being able to update and use apps due to old IOS but consistent reliable phone features?
