iPhone 7 lagging when unlocking

I’ve been using iOS 14.5 for 3 days now and the lag is fixed for me. Maybe the fix is just a random thing or we have different kinds of lags…

Fixed on 14.6 already

Did you try it without the cell phone charging?

Problem returns when using AirPods

When raise to wake is turned on, it laggs every 3th 4th unlock, when raised sometines its lagging so much that backlight stay dimmed and then like in 5 frames turning on, step by step going to full brightness. And then unlocking the phone and I need to wait few sec and then phone start to work normally. And soletimes backlight is fine and unlock find and then start to lagg and I wat few sec and after that works fine. And what I noticed when i lock the phone with power button phone locks and i hear the lock sound few seconds after screen go blank. Pressing power button screen goes black phone lock and then after 1-2 seconds I heak "klick"-lock sound. This is not that often but I notice thst. And all this problem start with upgrading to ios 14 and stays trough all ios14 updates. With ios13 never had this problems with lagging, phones was fluid and everything works fine.

Lagging is still present, with or without raise to wake, with or without any lock protection, its just there when ever I wake the phone Lag and slowness is there few seconds, sometimes I notice is even more then few sec. Like opening app and there is just white screen and nothing then app loading then i klick on let say chat and it's loading and all of the sudden start working fast and normally. Its like it is working something in the background like gimi33 said. And I thought is like cos of Iphone 7 its old but no, I saw my frineds have similar problems with iphone xr, x, 11. And if phone standing just on table or in pocket and not doing anything it drain battery way more than before with ios13. I dunno but I really loosing mu patience with so much bugs in software and so long with all updates but always the samo preblems... It's funny cos I never had this problem when I was using Android, not even one of this problems ever and I used android for 10-11 years bughet and premium phones, and iphone I was switch on and off but last 3 years I use iphone, apple watch, ipod, if this goes on with other updates hmmm im thinking notvto use iphone anymore...

У меня такая же проблема, я отдавал телефон в сервисный центр, мне заменили по гарантии таптик энжайн. Через сутки, после того как мне его отдали проблема вернулась. Мне помогает отключение тач айди, но это не вариант вообще. У меня эта проблема была и на iOS 13. Я сдался и выложил телефон на продажу.

I try that too and that doesn't help either. When I unlock, with or without raise to wake, and using rest figner to open and unlock phone. When just raise to wake or if its off and pressing home or power button to wake the phone, back light is so dimmed and its like step by step going from dimmest to brightest, its like dimmest, after half a second its on half brightness and other second is at full brightness. Its sooooo lagging even with backlight turning on, and press or rest finger to unlock then there is no animation and smoothness when unlock, ist just so slow that miss some animations and go straight to home screen, and after 2-3 sec it came to life and work just fine after that, sometimes when switching from app to app it lags. And when it works fine, just lock it and unlock it and again it lags and everything With back light keybpard for 3-5 second, rarely lags goes over 5 sec, and again after that it works fine... sometimes when I type no mater what app is, keyboard just freezes for 1-2 sec and when unfreeze it types everything I type when it was frozen... its so many bugs in this ios then I ever before and its frustrating... I have old android from 2010 and it works better with way less lag than this ios 14,4. What Im noticing 14.1 then 14.2, 14,3 14,4, with every newer update this bugs going from bad to worse, and being more and more laggy and worst with every new update.

I have again reported the issue to Apple... more than 6 months have past and it still hasnt't been fixed!

I read that if you rise the phone and then unlock it, the lag does not occur. Instead of unlocking when the screen is off. Has anyone tried that? I will try it and tell you guys if it works since I haven't done so.

stop reinventing the wheel and powdering people's heads. there is a solution for a long time: you need to disable touch id! there is no face id in iphone 7. apple, when the problem is solved, how much more time do you need? 5.10 or 20 years old?

we should spam apple’s feedback website about our problem until they respond and listen to us. Can someone kindly write a form of the feedback have a good description of this issue and we all submit it daily until they respond?

to screen record, open settings, then press control center and add screen recording. To open control center, swipe up from the bottom of the screen. Unless you have an without a home button, if you have one without a home button, swipe down from the top right corner of the screen.

It’s there yet on my iPhone 7 using iOS 14.5.1 soon as I restart the phone or shutdown and on it lags pressing the power button for few times helps the lag go away. I’m really annoyed and also the internet speed is too slow network goes away and keeps searching for long time on phone start.

while charging this doesn’t happen but that’s ridiculous one doesn’t need to always keep charging the phone to get rid of this ? iPhones are pretty expensive fixes are lame

I have to admit that after last update to 14.4.1 the amount of such cases decreased significantly. But time to time small lag appears.
