Surprisingly enough my fairly old Canon iP100 is working now after installing the Canon driver on an M1 running Big Sur:

I was wondering if that would be a solution G. I'll give it a try. Thanks!
I'm not on Big Sur but the most recent Catalina. It quit working after the last update to Catalina.
Hello,
Which exact Canon model is it? There are many Canon printers, and the solutions may differ.
Canon Pixma MG 7550. I'm sure you can find the Catalina driver for your model in the drop down list
TR8550
Hi,
Thank you, However, my question was in response to klara111.
It is a Canon MF8300C.
Klara111, it looks like you need to add or check the printer queue settings through System Preferences.
Another option is to try using the demo version of Pacifist to install the driver.
here also same problem am facing.. first time Mac user and its really feel bad am unable to connect my printer.
canon support detects my os as Catalina
Hi aneesfa91,
It would help to know the exact Canon printer model. Also, I assume that you are using macOS Big Sur.
Thanks a lot.. it helps
I have installed OS Big Sur. My Canon D530 printer is not working anymore. Can this be solved?
Looks like you just need to download new software. Did you do it already? https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/details/printers/black-and-white-laser/d530?tab=drivers_downloads
