Please do the following in this order:
Hi,
Do you mean the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5550i? If so, drivers appear to be available from Canon for macOS Big Sur:
You may want to check, compare, and test drivers from both sites.
Also, a Canon iR-ADV C5550i is mentioned in About AirPrint - Apple Support as a model supporting the driverless AirPrint technology. This means that it should be possible to use the printer in question without drivers when connected to a network.
Try a printing system reset between tests.

Hi,
Since the MG5750 can print from an iPhone (sometimes), I assume that you are using a Wi-Fi router (infrastructure mode) and AirPrint.

You may want to try the following: Power off the router, the printer, the computer, all iOS devices, and all other connected devices. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the router. Wait another two to three minutes. Power on the printer. Wait a minute or two. Power on the computer. Finally, power on the iOS devices, and all other connected devices. Any change?
If necessary, reset the printing system, and then try to re-add the MG5750 (as an AirPrint printer).

Hi,
Have you tried AirPrint via a network connection? The Canon MG3250 is mentioned in About AirPrint - Apple Support as a printer supporting the driverless AirPrint technology. This means that you should be able to use the MG3250 without drivers. See also the guide from Canon Europe (https://www.canon-europe.com/support/consumer_products/apple_airprint_guide/).
If necessary, try resetting the printing system and re-adding the printer.

I was finally able to scan. There were two pieces of software that I had to add to the firewall:
I fixed this for Big Sur 11.1 and the Canon C2225 Imagerunner. It may work for other Canon printers as well.
It worked for me.

I had the same problem getting the updated driver for my macOS Big Sur. Here is how I resolved the issue:
Worked as of 05/30/2021
Many thanks indeed, Old Toad and rkaufmann87 for some excellent advice! After resetting my printer system, I downloaded Gutenprint and it worked first time. I have an old USB Canon MP970 that wouldn't print after installing BigSur. The driver hasn't been updated since Mountain Lion OS, so I thought it was a gonner. Gutenprint brought it back.
The official Gutenprint manual is a bit daunting, but a search around on the web unearthed some reasonably straightforward instructions. Very briefly, this sequence got my printer up and running:
And that should be that! Many thanks to all the contributors to this thread. Very helpful.
The latest version officially supported by your printer is 10.15, Catalina. Try to download and try reinstalling the 10.15 driver from Canon's site.
Otherwise try the advice previously posted in this topic.
Based on the version number, release date, and size/name of the file, it appears that the 10.15 and 11.1 Canon install versions are one in the same. Also, the release notes for the drivers state that the installer should work for multiple versions, as below.
Nothing in the other posts really apply, as the software can't be removed (was never installed), and the reset process can't be applied without the printer existing first.
Good news/bad news for me:
Good news--UFRII_v10.19.6_Mac.zip is now posted on the Canon support site as of 12/14/2020 and claims to support Big Sur and the M1.
Bad news--same error appears when trying to install it.
Really not sure what is going on here, as surely they are testing the install package on the appropriate setup before releasing it?
This has helped with the printer part of our MG7120 multifunction printer. Scanner part isn't working yet...
I can print to that printer now. However, opening the scanner gives error messages:
At some times, the error number is a different negative numbers (-99xx), but I did not write that down...
After capturing the information above, I tried to update the scanner software. I download the latest scanner software (misu-mac-2_3_8-ea21_3misu-mac-2_3_8-ea21_3) from the Canon website. The release notes suggest that it's compatible with Big Sur 11.0, and that's what's installed on this Mac. Resetting the printing system again, and re-creating the printer did not address this scanner issue. Same error messages as in the screen shot above.
Any suggestions for how to resolve the scanner issue?
On the regular European (I'm in the Netherlands) Canon site it says that drivers are not available for Big Sur. I found however the scanner software on a Canon Hongkong site: https://hk.canon/en/support/0200482010/13?model=0617C
I installed this software. Opened it, but strangely enough it shows my old Canon MG5700 printer in there again by default. This is not the printer I currently have. And so it doesn't work. I'm surprised it still shows my old printer name in there even though I completely removed all the old Canon software before and reinstalled everything from scratch.
Ha! Ok, coincedentally I just downloaded that from the HK site before you sent me this link. :)
However, it still doesn't work. It keeps showing my old printer which I don't have anymore. As a matter of fact I removed this MG5700 already from the Printers & Scanners wizard yesterday as you can see in the screenshot:
Hi mate, thanks for your help.
No I can't change the selection. The old (already removed MG5700 printer) is the only option in there.
However, I just found out that I will probably not need the Canon scan utility anymore.
There's a "Scan" tab if you select your printer in the Printers & Scanners wizard box in the Mac OS settings:
When you click open scanner, it will startup the printer scan function on your printer device. The prompt gives you the same options for every document you want to scan as the Scan Utility software from Canon. So you can chose it's DPI, document feeder or flatbed, the folder you want to save the scan to and the file name. Afterwards in Finder you will be able to rotate the document as I just did with my daughter's school assignment:
