Hello again,

Yes, the Canon (PIXMA) MG5350 is mentioned in the article About AirPrint - Apple Support as a printer supporting the driverless AirPrint technology. This means that the printer is compatible with macOS (Big Sur).

Regarding the firmware, please have a look at https://www.canon.co.uk/support/consumer_products/products/fax__multifunctionals/inkjet/pixma_mg_series/pixma_mg5350.html?type=firmware . There is an AirPrint Firmware Updater (Mac) for MG5300 series Ver.1.2b (19 September 2017). Unless already installed, please note the updating details.

Also see the Manual for how to use AirPrint for Mac.

It may not be a bad idea to reset the printing system (steps in the following article) before you add the printer.

Information about how to add the printer can be found here:

It should not be too difficult to make this work. Do you have an existing Wi-Fi network with a router? If so, make sure that the printer and the Mac computer are connected to the same network. Do not hesitate to post back in case of additional questions.

Good luck!

Would the following (for US Canon MG3220/3222 printers) possibly work with your model as well?

Anyway, since you could print via a Samsung phone and Canon Print Service, we know that the printer as such is working. Do you have access to an iPhone? An iPhone should recognise the MG3250 as an AirPrint printer, and print to it (without an additional app).

Yes, Canon apparently supports up to OS X 10.10 Yosemite only (https://www.canon-europe.com/support/consumer_products/products/printers/compact_photo/cd__cp_series/selphy_cp810.html?type=drivers&language=en&os=os%20x%2010.10%20(yosemite)). This does not necessarily mean that the driver will not work with some later operating system versions, but that would be experimental. I also noticed that there is a Gutenprint driver for the Canon Selphy CP810.

There is always a certain risk involved with an experiment. Software/hardware problems cannot be ruled out. Do not do anything unless you know what you are doing. Data may be lost, so make sure that at least three backup copies of important files (photos, etc.) are available.

Had same problem. I managed to get a reply from Canon by messaging them in Facebook. As far as I can tell there is no intention to update drivers (unless they have had second thoughts!) and the way to get a Canon printer to work is via (Mac) AirPrint technology.... So if this works that's good. But if it doesn't work (or you can't get it to work - I couldn't) then maybe it's a "down to the shop" journey? But if other printers also seem to be affected so it's worth checking that a different printer works. (The one I bought does).
