Outlook prompted me to change password and now it won't update mail. I get a message to enter password thru Edit Settings but does not let me re-enter password. I get a message the says Account not Authenticated. There is no keyboard for me to re-enter it. Any suggestions? Thank you

Are you using and outlook.com/hotmail.com eMail? If so,...
Use a New App Password for Hotmail:
I remember chatting with Microsoft not too long ago, and going through this to set up other accounts to be accessed on Mail, Outlook, and on other Apps. A new App Password fixed this.
While in Hotmail, Go To:

Would deleting the email account and reinstalling it with a new “name” carry through to my laptop email login too?

Can't re-enter updated password for Hotmail on iphone
I just inherited an iPhone 6 Plus and am finding that I’m having this problem too. Can someone from Apple please look into this? It’s frustrating.

If you need storage, try deleting your Facebook and YouTube accounts. Reload the apps and sign in. iPhones track and store tons of data from these sites. Deleting them will delete them from your phone
Just because it is your Apple ID should not prevent you from deleting an account in Mail. Deleting a mail account has nothing to do with the email address which is your Apple ID. You can delete the account and then add it back again.

Ok, as someone alse suggested, it does work by setting up an "Exchange" email account rather than a hotmail one.
