Apple Watch 6 battery draining in Watch OS 7.6.2

I did not have any issues with battery in watch os 7.5, or 7.6, but since I went to 7.6.1, 50% of the life is gone. Meaning my battery used to last from 7am until 10pm, without doing a workout or streaming music. By 10pm it would be about 35%, now it goes from 100% to 50% in like 4 hours.

If the battery drains too fast after an update, see all the replies to:

FWIW, in some cases, unpairing the watch, completely erasing it, then pairing and restoring the backup will resolve the battery draining issue after an update. (Simply unpairing and pairing again may not work.)

Also, some people have found that simply waiting a few days after an update resolves the battery draining problem.

Same issue here. Apple Watch 6. Upgraded to 7.6.1 from 7.5 about a week ago. Went to Apple Store and they had me unpair, set up as new watch. That did nothing other than lose all my data.

Tried to tell me it was one of the apps that was corrupted or something. He basically shrugged his shoulders when I said 8 hours for my watch that lasted 18 last week was unacceptable.

I agree, Apple needs to address or they need to provide a method of downgrading software when these things happen

I have the same issue since updating watch to newest update....I have a series 4 gps model only and Iphone 12 Max both are on the newest update AW 7.6.1 and Ip 14.7.1 and since the AW update the watch last about 8hrs when it use to last 18-24hrs and would include a workout this is dead in 8hrs or less without any excess usage....ridiculous that it has been almost a month and Apple has yet to even address there is an issue.

I'm using Apple for almost all my life now, but this is the first time that Apple is really disappointing me. Since the last Watch OS update, my Apple Watch Series 5 became pretty useless now, since it will not last for even 12 hours.. Every hour that I'm checking my battery status, I lost another 10 percent.. It's frustrating to see that Apple is only recommending the Unpair > Erase > Restore method as a reply on this thread, but believe me: I really tried everything to solve this problem! I already unpaired, erased, etc. for 2 times but.. without any improvement! Please Apple, take this problem serious (as seen in this thread there are a lot of loyal customers who are experiencing the same problem..) and let us know how this problem will be solved! Our watches are worth nothing at this moment!

The problem is that not all the watches are affected, I think for that apple do not release a fast update. For example I have a AW 4 gps with the last 7.6.1 and iphone xs max with 14.7.1 and I have a terrible battey drain on my watch. My wife has the same iphone and a AW -se, the software is the same but she do not have any battery drain issue..... it is very strange!!!

I am having this problem as well. I used to wear my watch to track sleep but now if I want it to make it through the day I leave it charging all night. It’s pretty bad. I have a 6 operating 7.6.1. My mom has a 3 with the same ios and she can’t even wear hers anymore. Puts it on fully charged at 8 and it’s at 0% by noon. Time for you to fix this Apple. Your products are too expensive for you to let this go on.

Something is going on with this update. I have two Series 3 watches (the GPS and Cellular). Both watches are at 100% battery health and both have the OS 7.6.1 update and the GPS watch will die after 8 hours of use. Before the update I could get two days out of the GPS watch before it needed to be charge up. I’ll wear the GPS watch to work and don’t use anything on the watch while I’m working and the battery will still drain. The Cellular one will hold a 4 day charge before it’ll go dead. I tried to tell the idiots at Apple about this update but they told me not to compare the two watches, even though the only difference is one you can make calls on without the phone and the other one you need a phone.
