The fix for me was disabling Protect Mail Activity. Settings/Mail/Privacy Protection/ and turn off Protect Mail Activity and Hide IP address. Now checking Mail in the app works as fast as it did in ios14.
When I updated to Ios15 one of the options I remember getting prompted for was more privacy around Mail so I said yes. It works so well apparently you can’t check or send gmail accounts in a reasonable time frame with the iOS mail app.
I tried most of the other things in this thread before hand and nothing worked. Try turning off that new feature for now and see if things start working better.
Didn’t meant to be passive aggressive, nor thought I was replying to someone. Just tried to say that things that seemingly work are not working consistently.
Yes, I saw now. You’re right it happens without closing the app as well.
Not nice at all.
I wish I could learn how to solve such performance problems one day so I can help companies deliver better products to their clients.
It’s a PITA.
Totally agree (no offence meant or taken), worked in IT for over 30 years. Just saying that you might try making a simple change to the configuration as I did. This seems to be the pattern of the resolutions posted. Obviously there is a problem in the update that may not affect everyone; just hoping it will be resolved.
Hi, I was having the same issue, very slow loading from all email sources. I've turned off push and fetch and selected manual downloads for when the app is in use. At the moment new mail is loading and opening quickly again.
No solution was needed for me in the end. It gets stuck forever only if you close the app from task bar. If you did so just do what was offered in this forum to unfreeze it once. Then to make it fully work just let it finish, will take long time once but that’s okay. After that you’ll be receiving all your emails right away.
I am not getting my emails sometimes until I actually open the Mail app. I can send myself an email and only when I go into the Mail app and check my emails does the email show up. I am receiving emails when I go onto my app from an hour before. Any help regarding the situation would be greatly appreciated. This is absurd I use my phone to run businesses and I need to receive emails immediately, not when I go onto my Mail app.
For anyone that thinks my settings are not set up correctly is wrong. Everything is set up the way it should be.
After reading and trying many solutions I finally fixed the problem. Delete the mail app and the data Go to Apple store and re-install the app. Turn back on each mail service you use in the mail settings. It works perfectly now. It was the Gmail account that got hung up
As of now, nothing that have been suggested worked. Removing the app, resetting network settings, mail privacy steps, restarting the phone, all did not work.
Apple?!!!!!!!! wake up and fix the issue.
Iphone 12, 15.4
Yes but you shouldn’t have to use another app in order for your mail to work. It’s like saying you have a transmission grind so you change transmission fluids in order not to have a grind. Your transmission shift regularly with normal transmission fluid.
in this came the mail app should work the way it’s supposed to and we shouldn’t have to use another app in order for our mail to come through on time
I’ve tried every suggestion including turning off mail protection and resetting the network on my iPad. It takes at least 20 seconds for mail to load every single time. I also have plenty of memory and empty my cache every day. Ready to throw my iPad through the window. So frustrating.
I explained what is on my mind; my mail takes about four minutes to download on my iPad, not on my iPhone. I use my iPad to read mail because the print is larger…and I am old. This is frustrating. Finally, when I opt to open a link in an email on my iPad it does so without any problems. The only problem, and a BIG one is that I have to wait another 4 or so minutes for the email to open when I go back to it. This is truly frustrating and a problem.
I think they font have any solution. I’ve noticed that once mail have some animation inside, that one is loading very slow…like 4 min.
i installed outlook and set up my mail which is working fine.
Maybe apple can check how outlook is working and implement same solution.
this issue happen to me once i updated to ios 15.4
Not helpful - NOT a storage issue - deleting and restoring email accounts DOES NOT work - complete restart DOES NOT work - turning airplane mode on/on DOES NOT work - changing mail privacy settings DOES NOT work - this is ridiculous, Apple!
Agree with you.
tried everything like switch on switch off disable security reset restart, nothing worked. However if I used outlook mail, it worked fluent.
also, by chance when the app 1.1.1.1 (free vpn) is on, mail worked very fast and smooth. I know we should not use another app to fix something, but that is what I am doing to solve the issue until mr. APPPLE get us some fix.
This doesn't fix the issue. The problem isn't any specific email, but the entire process of opening it up to begin with. This is definitely the iOS 15 update that has caused this. I have reported to Apple but nothing has changed.
Same frustrating issue. Open email app and all I see is a white screen with arrows on the right waiting for the email to appear. Takes forever to see the emails. Often have to close the app and re-open to see email. I had no problems prior to iOS15.4 and have not changed any settings after installing iOS 15.4. There is some issue with iOS 15.4.
iOS 15.4.1, iPhone 13 Pro.
