CAR Play Issues after IOS15 Update Cannot Load SiriusXM Or Amazon Music

I'm having the same issue with the Downcast app. I can play podcasts from my phone, but the interface just says Can't Connect. I've checked the app store and there are no new updates to Downcast at this time. I'm also having major connection issues with CarPlay in general since updating to iOS 15 - I had to restart my phone and head unit twice this morning just to get it to connect. 2019 Honda Civic and iPhone 12 Pro.

If you're still on iOS 14 I would recommend waiting a while before updating. I wish I had, especially since Apple is now pushing out security updates for 14 even if you don't update to 15.

same here..... used the iPhone SE with iOS 14.8 on CarPlay via hotspot option and had full internet/webbrowser access (the banner on top was always blue). This morning after the iOS15 update last night, I connected the iPhone (as always via USB -- problem is the same with BlueTooth ...) and hotspot is connected (1 connected visible on banner) BUT no internet (on the CarPlay you don't see the 'globe' symbol). It all worked fine with iOS14.8 and before.....

Yes. I disabled and turned on the EQ. It works perfectly now. I have tried so many things like resetting, and setting up and even changing to the original Apple USB cable. It kept saying "audio off" even though I could turn on FM.

Don't know what it's about, but as long as it works now, I am fine. In fact, I made an appointment with Lexus to fix the problem next week.

Exact Same experience on my iPhone12 with iOS 15 including the "Recent" channels in SiriusXM loading eventually.

Ironically, Pandora is the only streaming app I've tried that actually works for me (other than "Music" app). Considering they're owned by Sirrus XM, how can XM not fix their app?

And yes to anyone wondering, you can stream any app as long as you control it ON the phone itself.

I assumed this was just an Amazon Music app problem until I came to this thread. Since it seems that all these music apps are broken it would seem to be Apple's fault, especially if the new beta is fixing? How does such a thing get through beta testing. Carplay is no longer "a new platform" with all the car hardware out there...

I can connect to SiriusXM, but since this morning, all music is PAUSED, if I use CarPlay on my 13 Pro Max… Which renders the service useless in my 2020 Acura RDX. My phone auto upgraded software overnight to 15.1- something.

Update my iphone 11 to 15.0.2 and sadly still having the same problem. When my phone is plugged into CarPlay port if i try to switch to FM radio or XM it will switch right back to CarPlay. I know it's not a headhunt problem because I tried my wife's phone which wasn't upgraded to ios15 and everything works fine. So frustrating. By the way, this is for a 2018 Honda Civic.

I installed 15.0.2. My experience with BMW iDrive 7.1: 50% of the Music apps still freeze. I tried 6 different apps that worked before iOS 15. Now only 3 work. A bigger concern is the instability since iOS 15. Frequent freezes and crashes which I never had before. After freezing, I often have to restart my iPhone to get it connected again. It is no fun while driving.

Even the map can freeze after ending the guidance. In addition, Map ETA share sends error messages of "incompatible iOS" to the persons I share it with. To be sure, they have the same iOS installed. This iOS has a bad name: 15

Waze is not the issue. This car is before Carplay but has USB audio. Worked under ios 14, but not 15 and beyond. The car no longer recognizes the iphone. IOS 15 has removed car connectivity. Nothing has been fixed. Apple needs to update this or I need to downgrade to 14 to use it with my car.

My car does not support bluetooth audio, just phone calls. Why would this update cause USB audio to not work? It worked for my morning commute, then my phone updated, now it doesn't. Seems this is a problem with IOS 15. My car is a 2011. Same for 2011 Hondas in other posts. Seems to be a pattern.

I have experienced something closer to the opposite. Whether it was 15.1 and now 15.2 I have features that I wasn’t even getting before. I can only relate this to my car’s Apple play interface so while I won’t (can’t) doubt your experience I can’t rule out that Apple may be right in their assessment either. Can you expound on on the manufacturer or the model year? They may have an update available.

My infotainment is running update Gracenote in my Mazda 3T. I have also experienced an increase of features and more realizability in actually connecting to apps. It all worked great before iOS 15, i to also have a iPhone that I have not updated to iOS 15 and still works flawless which is why I lean toward it being an Apple problem not my vehicles infotainment or apps.

I have the same issue with a 2021 Mazda CX-5 and a 2019 Ford Escape. Both worked perfectly until IOS 15 upgrade. Phone is a iPhone 12 mini.

It's definitely IOS 15, needs a patch.
