13 pro max camera freeze

I am on my 2nd new iPhone 13 Pro Max and I am experiencing the same problem on new phone. The IPhone camera app freezes and I have to turn the phone off. Totally unacceptable for my business use and cost of this phone. I took my first phone to the Apple store and it froze in the camera app for the technician. Because the phone was under warranty they suggested getting a new phone. Please advise on the on-going widespread technical flaw with the IPhone camera app.

I FINALLY have this resolved. A hardware diagnostic found that the "sensor" on the back of the camera was bad. I got a new phone. I'm guessing this is the issue with most of you on this forum as the symptoms are all the same. It was a giant pain getting a new phone but bring up the camera and it not freezing is like breathing again.

I started experiencing these freezing problems on the 0.5 camera about two months after having the phone, after countless resets and phone calls I sent the phone to apple who said nothing was wrong with it, luckily I sent it bk to amazon for a replacement, my new phone does exactly the same, freezes when filming in this mode, completely unacceptable as I use it for work and have now had none stop problems and every time having to put all my passwords back in, I’ll be sending this one back to Amazon too and picking a better phone I think, I used to like apple but this is damaging my work

its terrible my brother has also since had these camera freezing issues but only when it was really hot, apple really need to fix this, iv sent 2 back now for a refund, first one started doing it after 2 months and the 2nd one done it straight as I got it out of the box before id installed any back ups, its unacceptable for a product at this price , iv since gone with Samsung though I don't like there operating system, a far far cheaper phone and doesn't have these freezing issues

the 0.5 camera lens seams to struggle with the device, hopefully an update will resolve it, or maybe there technology is a bit behind the other phones on the market, its such an expensive phone it shouldn't be bugged with these issues, when I spoke to apple they told me it was a very rare thing but I find that hard to believe as my 2nd one done exactly the same after 2 minutes having it

Latest IOS installed, I’m just shocked it’s done exactly the sane thing on the replacement handset (remember that there has been two full manual deletions, which included re-installing apps manually, as opposed to from the backup/iCloud). I’ll try the thing you mentioned about using specific settings on the camera, but my feeling on this is that it should be able to cope with any setting/scenario.

One thing I have noticed via this thread, is that it is people who are shooting video for more than a couple of minutes, which might mean it’s a bigger problem with this particular model, but people who don’t shoot video for longer periods just aren’t experiencing it ?

Also, the phone was fine for the first 12 months, which might mean that it’s in some way connected to one of the updates ?

The phone has had two full deletions (not restored from back ups to avoid any bugs), a new camera fitted and finally a replacement, but the replacement did exactly the same thing, hence why now I am hopeful that a future software update will resolve the issue.

I hasten to add that my local Apple Store have been very supportive and excellent at keeping me up to date regarding any progress.

Mine does exactly the same thing. I use mine for business, photographing jewelry for sale online. It’s now to the point where I’m ready to fling this brand new gorgeous phone into the wheelie bin and put the sim card back in my iPhone XR. Even closeups were better on the other. I thought about contacting Apple, but now I see this is a known issue. Great. Are we stuck with 1K lemons?

I’m still struggling with mine too. 2nd phone (13 pro max) and very few, if any, photos I could realistically sell. My only reason for this purchase was the camera. I expected it to give me freedom to take quality photos for my businesses as well. Very disappointed and use my husbands old Samsung for quality pics. I agree that Apple should make this right!

I’m having a similar issue with my iPhone 13 Pro. My software version is 15.3.1. When using the video recorder on the back of the phone, sometimes the video starts recording without pressing on the button and it shuts off automatically. Also, I can not zoom or pan out when this happens. I’ve powered my iPhone down and turned it back on and the issues continue. I came from the iPhone XS Max that had no issues and I bought the iPhone based on its reputation. What can be done to correct all of the issues?
