No. I’ve deinstalled and reinstalled the app and everything Tania Gougler and Apple said to do; even going so far as to reset my phone to factory and installed JUST the Google Mail app and it still doesn’t display badges.
I do have an iPhone 6S that I never updated to iOS 15 and Google Mail still works on that iPhone so that’s why I’m convinced it’s something to do with one of Apple’s updates. So much for keeping your iPhone up to date.
I'm still trying to get over the 2nd brilliant tech suggestion that Tania got about turning notifications on for EVERYTHING. I can’t believe how utterly ridiculous that suggestion is.
This happened back either at the end of February or beginning of March when I updated to 1 of their 15.0000165, or some absurd update # we were asked to perform.
After updating to iOS 15, there have been a voluminous amount of updates they’ve pushed out. Clearly that says that 15 wasn’t FULLY ready and tested before release. But you know Apple, when they give a release date, for a new iOS, ready or not, it’s released because they’ve got to push those shiny new iPhones for $1,500.00. So if it will at least sort of work, they’ll push out trash and then send out a million updates to fix things. They’re absolutely not the same “we want to get things right for the consumer” company they used to be when the first iPhone was released.
im still using my trusty iPhone 7 Plus that was given to me as a gift. I have an iPhone X as a “just in case this 1 fails” that I will start using in 2 years when I can not update this phone to iOS 17. When X outlives it’s operating system, I’ll happily switch to a nice cheap Android phone.
