Unclear robotic voice on iPhone 13 Max Pro phone call

I have recently purchased an iPhone 13 Max Pro. I have a problem on occasion (often) when I get a phone call or when I make a call, the other person sounds like a robot. It switches to normal voice and back to the robotic sound. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated, thanks.

Same here but I get the issue with my sister’s iPad and me on my iMac ( late 2019 with Monterey ) her voice is robotic but the video feed is perfect and she can hear me ok; once we stop the FaceTime and restart it from my iPhone 13 pro max, it’s totally fine and works properly. I tried switching all the settings I could think of on my iMac but to no avail. I even used Speedify using both an ethernet connection and wifi connections with two different connections sources ( VDSL and 5G mobile router ) … nothing! It’s something on the iMac, methinks

I bought my iPhone 13 Pro brand new this summer from New York. I had this robotic voice disruption several times on regular phone calls and on teams calls. very embrassing and frustrating. I had to drop and call back again. I had no such problem with my previous iphoneXR. I do not understand if it can be fixed with software update or if it has a problem with hardware. I see that many others have the same problems too. I do not understand why Apple do not give an explanation about it. My 1-month-old phone needs a fix.

Hello There,

I am having the same issues. It’s been a month since I got my new iPhone 13pro and it started acting weird. I am having frequent robotic feedback literally on every single call. I did all the troubleshooting steps that is required, I went to Apple store to get this resolved, they checked diagnosed and said there is no issue with the device and they cannot help me with the robotic feedback. This is very frustrating because it happened while my inter last week thrice and I couldn’t hear a grain what the interviewer was asking me. Why the **** should I pay $1000 for a piece of garbage like this? Is this the way you treat your customers? Agents at stores says that Apple is not responsible for any issues after the purchase! Is that your policy to Sell defective devices and repair them? As loyal customer for last 7 years, this is very disappointing. Need to get this issue fixed, the only way i see is to get a replacement device as your genuine service advisors have failed terribly to fix the issue instead they advised me to ship the device to other location and wait for nothing.

So I posted already about experiencing the same issues as everyone else. But I want to give an update because I found the problem for my phone. I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max on Verizon. What I noticed was that the problem wasn’t happening when I was on my car speaker phone or simply talking on speaker. It was only happening when I had my AirPod Pros connected. So once I realized that, I have given it a few tests to ensure that that was the issue. And sure enough if I am not connected to my AirPod pros than the distortion and breaking up does not happen. So now I realize that the problem is not the phone but the AirPod Pros when they are connected. Still annoying, because the AirPod pros work fine listening to music but for some reason they distort every phone conversation. Sounding as if there’s interference or as if I have a bad signal. So it’s very weird. These are my third AirPod pros because something has always been wrong with them. So I’m assuming Apple sent me a refurbished pair and that may be the issue. But everyone in my family who uses regular AirPods do not have this problem. Hope this helps someone maybe narrow down the issue.

I had my device for 47 days and before this device I had a 12pro max in which I never had issues. I have been having same issues since the day two after purchasing the phone. We have two other 13pros at home all of them are with the same carrier and they don’t have the robotic feedback issues. I went back and fourth to Apple store and carrier and by the time I wanted my device to be replaced Apple said that the replacement time (the 15days which Apple gives us) had finished. I had multiple issues like call drops, robotic feedback, bad internet on cellular and ect., but nothing was resolved initially. They performed diagnostics multiple times, they said it will be gone if they re-flash the software, they did re-flash the software but nothing was fixed with it. When they re-flash the software Apple technician (that’s what they call themselves) said that I should configure my device as new so I had to setup the phone as new and had to download all the apps again and setup my Home Screen again, it is a inconvenience and I lost my back in the process. After all these steps the issues with robotic feedback was still there. I had a call with their experts and she mentioned the device will not be replaced even though there is a manufacturer defect after the 15days, then why should Apple sell the defective devices. The root cause for the issue from Apple expert was the environmental conditions.. I was like oh come on.. still they don’t replace the device which was purchased 45days back because that’s the policy of Apple. They set an appointment for repair service and I went to the store and store clerk asks me to explain the issue from the start again. They said they cannot replace it because I am in contract with tmobile (which was completely wrong, because I purchased the device from Apple unlocked and there is no contact with T-Mobile) I explained the same thing they said if T-mobile confirms that there is no contract they will replace it right away. I sat there for 35mins waiting for T-Mobile to answer my call and then they confirmed there is no contract and I gave the evidence to store manager who promised to replace the device. Now, after wasting my time, she says, ‘oh, I said I will try to replace but didn’t say I will replace’ she changed her words on my face. Now, other clerks comes in they are trying to convince me to get it repaired not to replace, I was like come on bro chill, it’s my money and I have the defective device why should I get it repaired instead to replaced when I have the warranty. They argued for an hour and I was really fed up with them so I gave my phone to repair. I got the device yesterday and so far no drop call or robotic feedback. Apple, please hire employees who knows how to treat their customers. Terrible service and no empathy at all. I would never recommend this Brand to anyone and I literally replaced the other three devices at home to Samsung s22plus and ultra. I am not going to use this piece of garbage as well, waste of money and energy. I was not expecting this from Apple service.
