My vehicle only has a USB adapter to connect to my stereo to enable Apple CarPlay. Now that I'm using a USB to USB-C cable, Apple CarPlay no longer works with the iPhone 15. Any ideas on how to address this? Should I try different cables or is this more of a fundamental issue with the new iOS or iPhone 15?

Many USB to USB-C cables and adapters support charging only, not data transfer, and data transfer is required for CarPlay.
Check with the manufacturer of the cable and/or its packaging to determine whether it is a charge-only cable or whether it is a data cable as well.
This is true for all cable manufacturers; for example, reliable cable company Anker sells both charge-only and full data cables.
VPN is simply the worst thing you can have an iPhone. Don't just turn it off, REMOVE it. VPN causes all sorts of issues on iPhone and is simply not needed or helpful.
You must have slept at a Holiday Inn Express (old commercial);-) I don't know what else to suggest. It's working great in my 2023 Genesis.

I have tried a to c cables as well as c to c. Some have tried those mentioned above and it still does not work.
Are you both claiming this helps USB C to USB C direct cable connection that is intermittently bad.
It sounds like an absurd recommendation for a wired connection, maybe for Bluetooth.
I thought this discussion was USB C to USB C. I don’t even have my phone connected via BT, seems pointless, and yes my phone is renamed from purchase!
Me too. Glad im not the only one. It stopped working the upgrade before 17.1.1. I’ve purchased multiple cords, thought maybe my USB port was bad.

Interesting. You could be right. I have an IPhone 12 Pro. It worked prior to the update and doesn't after the update. I did the update wireless. Lets see what the engineers discover, if anything.
