I can't browse Apple Music on iTunes (desktop)

My Macbook Pro runs OS10.10.5 and iTunes is 12.8.1.3 and my apple music subscription is up to date.

However, I get a blank page when I click the 'For You', 'Browse' or 'Radio' buttons from the browse tab in iTunes. I'm able to access my own Library and the iTunes store with no issue.

I followed the recommendations as written here - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/250159907

Rebooted in Safe Mode. Also set up a new user account. Issue persists.

No issue on my iPhone using the same account.

Please help.

Important detail: I was waiting for it to "fix itself", but nothing happened until I reset the iTunes cache, and immediately Apple Music showed up again. (iTunes>Preferences>Advanced>Reset iTunes Cache). I think the combo of Apple fixing something on their end, plus resetting was what made it work again for me. (on El Capitan).

That's a good point as well -- they're not going to put much energy into fixing Apple Music bugs right now since the new overhaul launches in September with Catalina. I might be misremembering but I believe a standalone new Music app will be available for systems that can't run Catalina. I'm hoping my Apple Music subscription will work with it.. otherwise there's no reason for me to keep it.

Having zero progress with Apple Support.

I first alerted them of the issue 10 days ago. The case was shifted up the support chain 4 or 5 times until reaching the level of iTunes Senior Support Engineers. After being told I would receive a call in 24 hours (that was a week ago), I've received no reply. I've chased them three times since, again with no reply.

I would suggest everyone contacts Apple Support so they understand this is a legitimate issue.

Just called Apple Support to alert them. They spoke to a Mac Support Engineer and said "since you're on a 2008 Mac and using the latest OS and iTunes available for that system, there's no articles with help for a system of that age." They said it was a possibility that it had to do with El Capitan but wouldn't say if anything had changed with Apple Music to make it suddenly incompatible. Their only suggestion was to take my computer to a service center to have it fixed (?)

Also, I read about a new type of music service, really? Had no clue about this until now.

The music service isn't changing. In September, Apple is releasing the new Mac OS, Catalina, which splits iTunes into newly designed separate apps for Music, Movies, and TV. Supposedly, those apps will also be available to people on older OS's like ourselves.

They aren't doing much updating or bug-fixing on the current iTunes since it's going away in less than a month anyway.

I'm hoping that when the Music app launches to replace iTunes, it'll fix this issue.

If you don't see this XML file, go to iTunes > Preferences > Advanced and check 'Share iTunes Library XML with other applications'. This will automatically create the file. You can then make a copy and paste it somewhere safe before you commence the downgrade.

After installing the older iTunes version, if your playlist fails to automatically load (from an iCloud version usually), go to File > Library > Import Playlist and select the XML file copy.

Hope this helps.

Has anybody with more skills than me been able to pinpoint the exact source of the problem? I guess it's something iTunes receives over the web that it doesn't like. Maybe there's a way to patch this? I have a feeling that iTunes Music in the iTunes app is nothing more than a Safari browser calling a special Apple webpage. Could be some sort of certificate that's run out or something? I tried to find information in logfiles, but have been unable to come up with a source for this problem.

If Apple doesn't want to help us, maybe we can help ourselves. Any ideas where to begin? Maybe we can get a hint if we look at opened ports and transmitted/received data over the web when clicking on an iTunes Music feature? Other ideas?

Maybe the H*ckintosh community is our last resort. They have been able to figure out a lot... Is someone active there and might ask for help? They seem to know Apple products better than Apple themselves today.
