Iphone 11 Pro & Carplay

I just upgraded from an Iphone X to Iphone 11 Pro. IOS 13.0 and now my Carplay sounds like an old Vinyl record with a scratch. playing music from the Phone skips randomly 5-15 seconds then skips again. I've reset the phone, I've erased the phone and just put 1 album on it, no luck. , updated to 13.1 and no change it still skips. My old Iphone X running 13.1 works perfectly. It's so bad I listen to XM now. and don't use my carplay to listen to music. My vehicle is a 2019 Mini Cooper JCW, I've had the dealership reset the ECU, any other ideas would be wonderful....

Did a a Google search to see if anyone was having a similar problem and found this. I just upgraded to an iPhone 11 Pro Max (from 8+) and my CarPlay is skipping now. Maybe not as much as yours as it’s only a few times a song, but it’s annoying. Our car is also a 2019 JCW Mini.

Yeah, I was told to do that about a month ago. I did and they were very grateful for it. A couple of weeks later they told me the issue was heading to a superior engineering department. It all sounds very professional but then others call and they tell them that it is the first news they got about this. This is starting to smell fishy, don’t you think?

I have been having the identical issues since September that everyone has been discussing in this forum. I have a Mini Cooper 2019 and am using the iPhone 11 Pro. I have a ticket opened with Apple, and have sent them logs from my phone. Like many of you, Apple has in no way acknowledged that this is a known issue that many others are facing, so that is quite frustrating.

I did discover yesterday that Mini Cooper has a firmware update for their radio. The link to the website to download the firmware is https://www.mini.com/connectivity. Unfortunately, even after installing this firmware update, the problem persists with the dropouts and disconnected phone calls. In fact, the problem seems even worse.

I have another meeting scheduled with Apple on Saturday morning to give them additional logs from my phone.

I met again with a senior Apple support engineer on Wednesday, and I installed two profiles on my iPhone 11 Pro so that they could view the logs that were captured at the exact times I was experiencing the issue. I experienced the issue multiple times over a one hour period, and I uploaded the logs to the Apple engineer. I am meeting again with Apple on Saturday to get an updated status of the issue.

Appreciate the link, its helpful to know that Apple is at least working on Carplay-related issues. In our case, the concern is that it is not an iOS-version issue, but more hardware-related, since it is only happening on iPhone 11's. For example, the iPhone 11 has a new ultra wide band radio, which I suppose could be the culprit based on other's descriptions of "interference" https://techcrunch.com/2019/12/05/apple-ultra-wideband-newer-iphones-location/

I also appreciate others spending a lot of time working with Apple support to troubleshoot. My thought though is that there must be a few BMW execs and engineers that have new iPhone 11s with the same issue. Our hope lies with them working with Apple to solve the problem.

I had another call today with my Apple senior support engineer, and I was told for the first time that this issue has been reported by others and is a known issue that is being worked on by Apple. Previously, no one from Apple had acknowledged this to me or anyone else on this thread. That is very good news, and hopefully will lead to a fix in the near future. I will keep you posted with any new information.
