Outlook prompted me to change password and now it won't update mail. I get a message to enter password thru Edit Settings but does not let me re-enter password. I get a message the says Account not Authenticated. There is no keyboard for me to re-enter it. Any suggestions? Thank you

Are you using and outlook.com/hotmail.com eMail? If so,...
Use a New App Password for Hotmail:
I remember chatting with Microsoft not too long ago, and going through this to set up other accounts to be accessed on Mail, Outlook, and on other Apps. A new App Password fixed this.
While in Hotmail, Go To:

Thank you, I have tried several times to do this before your reply and after and I get as far as Re-enter Password and when I click on Reenter Password another window starts to pop up and it says cancel and disappears. I do not get any type of keyboard to enter the password.

NO I have not deleted email. I think it's the default mail app. I went to download the Outlook App and as I don't have data on my phone it wouldn't let. The default app I can use wifi at the various safe locations that I have it set up at. Don't use data.
Tried to delete email account and it won't let me as it is my Apple ID. Tried to do as TheLIttles suggested however, I can perform items up to number 3. #4 More Security options (far left) not there, but third box over is Advanced Security Options and when I click on it , it just asks me to verify whom I am by the security I've given them. I don't get anything that ask for App Passwords. I will try to contact Microsoft Support. Thank you all for your input.
Thank you to all for your suggestions. I did try them all. When I tried to delete my email it originally wouldn't let me. I gave my phone to my daughter who was successful in deleting the email account and re-installing it and now the original account shows but doesn't update and a secondary account with the same email addy shows. We had to 'name' the new account. So all in all deleting and reinstalling the email account was successful. Thank you all again for your input.
I was afraid to delete the app until I got the exchange one up and running. It seemed to work. However, when I click on the email to read it, I get a blank screen. Email comes in on exchange but can’t read it. My iPhone never had an issue, only my iPad. Ugh :(
On my apple mini I pad I am locked out of email as it keeps asking me to enter my outlook account and when I hit ok it has no where to enter a password and no keyboard. What do I do to restore my hotmail email. Thank you.
I changed the security setting in my iPhone 12 for Outlook mail. After resetting it, it asked for password, then said everything was okay, then words to the affect that I won't be able to access my email until Jan. 7th. There is no explanation.

Have you found a solution? :/ I have iPhone 6plus and it’s doing the same thing asking for password but then doesn’t let me enter anything the pop up disappears , I don’t want to delete it because I’m afraid of what will happen, I think due to our memory being full or almost full maybe that’s the issue but I’ve literally uninstalled a lot of apps I only have the ones that iPhone installed so I don’t know y the phone storage doesn’t budge. I’ve deleted a lot of stuff but still it’s almost full :/ I just think it’s Apple trying to make us upgrade our phones well am moving to Samsung because of this exact reason, Samsung has so much storage and even lets you insert a memory card on their phones
Move to Samsung, Apple just wants us to upgrade our phones :/ it’s ridiculous that’s why they doing this they making old iPhones have issues so that we upgrade we’ll guess wat am upgrading to a whole new mobile brand! I thought after buying the iPhone 6plus I wouldn’t have to keep buying a phone every few months but no they just keep slowing the old softwares down n making us buy expensive phones not everyone can afford £1000 phones :/
Im not sure but I have an old iPhone 5 which doesn’t do software updates any more and mine is doing the same but I can get emails on iPad old Samsung and amazon fire so I do think it’s the phone as I’ve updated password on them all 3 and they are ok so I have ordered a new phon.
