outlook email will not update on Iphone after changing email password

Outlook prompted me to change password and now it won't update mail. I get a message to enter password thru Edit Settings but does not let me re-enter password. I get a message the says Account not Authenticated. There is no keyboard for me to re-enter it. Any suggestions? Thank you

Tried to delete email account and it won't let me as it is my Apple ID. Tried to do as TheLIttles suggested however, I can perform items up to number 3. #4 More Security options (far left) not there, but third box over is Advanced Security Options and when I click on it , it just asks me to verify whom I am by the security I've given them. I don't get anything that ask for App Passwords. I will try to contact Microsoft Support. Thank you all for your input.

I haven’t managed to find the exact way to resolve this but try this for anyone who needs it still:

1)Delete the account from the device

2) Go to settings and click on “Passwords and accounts”

3) Click on “Add account”

4) Instead of clicking outlook (try it first but unlikely considering the login issues), click on “other” instead and just type your email address and password in.

That should sync. : )

I found a solution to the problem Outlook password not authenticated nor being able to re add my Outlook account to my iPhone or iPad after updating to iOS 15.2 earlier today.

I deleted each account in Mail, then I added each account back by choosing Exchange instead of Outlook.com. It worked for both accounts on an iPhone 11 Pro and an iPad 11 Pro. I sent myself a test email and it worked.

All the best!

I had this issue on my iPad and, as the Outlook account was a waste of space unless I could enter my password, I deleted it (Settings/Mail/Outlook/Delete Account).

I then tried adding the account (Settings/Mail/Add Account/Outlook.com) but I couldn't get it to work.

So I gave in and set it up manually:

Settings

Mail

Add Account

Other (NOT Outlook.com!)

Add Mail Account

Name (the name you want to be known by)

Email (your email address)

Password (your Outlook password - the one you've been trying and failing to enter)

Description (Outlook)

Then it requests some incoming server info:

Host Name (outlook.office365.com)

Username (your email address)

Password (should be filled in from previous screen)

and some outgoing server info:

Host name (smtp.office365.com)

Leave the rest blank and continue.

Worked for me. :-) Good luck!

Evidently, the Outlook.com profile on the iPhone does now not do a correct redirection using the built-in iPhone browser. I even logged into my outlook.com email account on the browser and it still would not authenticate via the re-enter password on the mail account settings. This problem surfaced on an iPhone 6 running iOS 12.5.5 (last version it can run) after years of no issue. I am not sure if a more updated iOS has the same issue.

If you try to go the IMAP route by choosing "Other" account when you add, that will work but you will only get mail and notes sync (no contacts).

My resolution was to delete the outlook.com account and re-add it by choosing "Exchange". Enter your email and password and auto-discover the account (I forget what the exact syntax is shown as but do not choose manual). It then auto-discovered the account with no more settings needed and added the full suite of synced applications (email, contacts, notes, etc).

Have you found a solution? :/ I have iPhone 6plus and it’s doing the same thing asking for password but then doesn’t let me enter anything the pop up disappears , I don’t want to delete it because I’m afraid of what will happen, I think due to our memory being full or almost full maybe that’s the issue but I’ve literally uninstalled a lot of apps I only have the ones that iPhone installed so I don’t know y the phone storage doesn’t budge. I’ve deleted a lot of stuff but still it’s almost full :/ I just think it’s Apple trying to make us upgrade our phones well am moving to Samsung because of this exact reason, Samsung has so much storage and even lets you insert a memory card on their phones

Move to Samsung, Apple just wants us to upgrade our phones :/ it’s ridiculous that’s why they doing this they making old iPhones have issues so that we upgrade we’ll guess wat am upgrading to a whole new mobile brand! I thought after buying the iPhone 6plus I wouldn’t have to keep buying a phone every few months but no they just keep slowing the old softwares down n making us buy expensive phones not everyone can afford £1000 phones :/
