Mac Calendar not syncing with Exchange on Ventura

Just upgraded to Ventura. When I enter a calendar event in Mac Outlook is does NOT show up on my Mac calendar, but it does show up on my iPhone calendar immediately. Also, if I enter a calendar event on my Mac calendar and designate my Exchange calendar to put the event on, it does NOT show up on either my iPhone calendar OR the Outlook calendar on my Mac. I used to periodically get this happening on Monterey after a few days, but it fixes itself on a restart -- however, that is not case now, a restart of the Mac does not fix the problem.

Mac Mail seems to be syncing just fine -- no issues with that, so there is something going on between the Mac apps and the Exchange server.

macOS 13.4 fix found!

We've had this problem for multiple client devices since macOS Monterey. Back then we had a fix that worked however since macOS Ventura, no fixes have worked.

Since updating to macOS 13.4 the following fix works:

  1. Close Outlook, Mail and Calendar apps
  2. Open Activity Monitor
  3. Force quit the process called "exchangesyncd"
  4. Relaunch the Calendar app and give it a few minutes

This issue has caused us a lot of nightmares so hopefully this works for you all.

I was able to solve this and not by most of the solutions mentioned here.

  1. Go to iCloud on the web and export all of your contacts to disk.
  2. In the web contacts interface select all of the contacts you have online in iCloud.
  3. If you have screen time contacts, deselect those.
  4. You did make a backup of all those contacts to right? Ok, cool. Delete all of the contacts in the iCloud web interface.
  5. Wait for the contacts in your phone to delete. They will if you are sure you don’t have a configuration issue. It could take a few minutes.
  6. Once they disappear from your phone, reimport the backed up contacts into iCloud. They will reappear on your phone within a minute or so.

I tried many of these solutions after Sonoma monkeywrenched all--though have not completely deleted Exchange across the computer and restarted, i.e. from Mail as well. Only thing I got was for all so far is that old Outlook stuff has disappeared from my desktop Mac Calendar. Don't want to see this happen with Mail as well. I did try deleting from calendar and adding back in, only for it to tell me it was already there. Just have installed Outlook on the Mac and will use that alongside my Mac calendar. What a pain.
