Why does this screen time and app limits functionality not work? The ones I set are over-written, even tho I have block app turned on, half of the time they disappear and I have to restart the list. What is going on?

The only fix that worked for me was:
After these operations the time limit remained active. Of course, you might need Content & Privacy settings as well but this is the only thing that kept the App Limits in place.

Same issue here Apple. Driving me nuts that these app limits disappear randomly and very frequently.
It's returned after the update to 16.3.1 for my family as well. Ended up forcing my kids into permanent downtime rather than fighting it. Makes their devices near useless at this point.
I reached out to a support agent at Get Support, and have a call setup with them for tomorrow to walk through this. Recommend everyone set one up as well.

does it only impact app limit group for you or does it also impact screen time passcode - passcode is no longer active and because of that ‘block at the end of time’ is no longer available.
Maybe Im doing something wrong but despite the app limits, there was 16 hours of usage today. This parental app is worthless. I had a lot more control with Google family link.

Is there a fix going in? I gave up using these limits months ago due to constant unreliability. This is not related to recent software updates - it’s just a bad/non-functioning product. What’s the timeline for having a credible solution @Apple?
We are having the same issues. Very frustrating. Why even have screen time if it’s not going to be properly supported? Are there any non-apple apps I can download to restrict screening on children’s iOS devices??
This is so nuts. I either can’t add an app limit, so I reset my phone and then it let me add a limit, but as soon as I left the settings app, it deleted the limit I added. So much for keeping kids safe on devices. Fix this!
So this known issue has been going on for almost two months. It would be nice if we could at least get a, "we're working on it" reply here. The reason I came to apple was for the convenience of how the family sharing/control was set up. I'm about to get another phone because mine simply isn't doing what it's designed and advertised to do. Very disappointing
Happens to us as well. I’ve update my Iphone14 plus and sons iPhone 12 to most recent. Still happens. I set app limits then they disappear randomly. This needs to be fixed, lots of parents depend on that. literally an entire feature is not working - what’s the hold up.
I agree !!! The total disregard has me ******. How many parents don’t even know it’s broken! Extremely disappointing. Apple is supposed to be superior…. Not so when you have entire features that don’t work!
This glitch has been annoying me for so long! Initially I thought it had to do with kids devices going into power saver mode and thus stopping background updates, but it's not linked to that. Completely unpredictable and I haven't been able to find what actually triggers the limit to disappear. Extremely frustrating and basically renders the feature completely useless...
I am having the same issue just upgraded my child from an iPhone 7 to an iPhone 14 with iOS 16.3. I am very disappointed to read this has been going on for months with no fix. Screen time is the whole reason why we stayed with Apple vs Android. Any idea if it will be fixed in the next release or another app we can use as a work around until it is fixed?
